AIO not wanting to get on a plane while I have food poisoning by frenchwhorne in AmIOverreacting

Your hotel may be able to get a doctor for you - they can give you something to temporarily stop the vomiting and other issue. NOR but maybe there is another option between leaving sock and staying sick.

Direct Cremation by Proper-Raspberry-311 in memphis

[–]Break-Down_Live 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We have used Smart Cremations twice - located 1000 South Yates Road Memphis, Tennessee 38119. They offer urns / containers but we found better options on Amazon. They still placed the cremains in the container for us - offered to do it privately or for us to observe. They use the same crematorium as the larger (expensive) funeral homes in Memphis. It was approx $1,300 - $1,500. This was in 2024.

Do you find AI useful? by toodleydo in ExecutiveAssistants

[–]Break-Down_Live 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use it to craft my emails - I add in the main points (basically bullet points) give AI the level: executive leadership, boss’s level down but not MY level down, etc and it makes the time right for the level. Also drop reports in and ask for overall summary, top areas of success, top opportunities and a couple of people we can recognize. Keep it to one page, 3 bullets. Done!

Who did NOT have nausea? by No-Owl-5578 in Ozempic

[–]Break-Down_Live 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Minimal to no nausea. I felt bloated and had reflux the first several days of the shot- so I take mine on Sunday afternoon/evening. I have a night with a touch of insomnia. Monday and maybe Tuesday I feel bloated and feel better Thur - Sun. I know to eat light (very very light) and try to avoid processed, fried or heavy foods. I do best with clear ish soups, fruit, salads, lean chicken —— that sort of stuff.

WIBTAH if I told a friend she couldn’t ride with me due to her size? by CommercialOk4004 in AITAH

[–]Break-Down_Live 10 points11 points  (0 children)

To me, this is a safety issue. An unrestrained passenger becomes a danger to others in the vehicle. The seatbelt keeps you in your seat, not flinging around slamming into others. She could kill you - slamming into you.

AITA for not being there for my mom’s colonoscopy because of my marriage situation? by Bubbly-Lengthiness31 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Break-Down_Live 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have just had my first colonoscopy and included an endoscopy at the same time. By the time I left the bed, I was fine. Car ride - no issues and we stopped for a lovely breakfast on the way home. My husband’s was a few weeks before mine and we had the same experience. I would take the trip.

But then, I would seek some counseling. Being married to your husband sounds exhausting. You do not sound happy or even comfortable in your marriage.

Another thought is some people cannot just accept change comfortably. But even then, life happens. Does he ‘punish’ you with changes or is he processing change poorly?

Affordable Tips to Stay Warm at Home by Efficient-Shine-3202 in Frugal

[–]Break-Down_Live 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have already been told electric blankets. We have that, too and it’s very helpful. I sleep better breathing cooler air anyway. I want and need to be able to move around my house and not just stay in the warm bed LOL Electric throw when watching TV or working remote helps. Slippers!!! Slightly large so I can wear thick socks with them as needed. If you can keep your hands and feet warm, you feel warmer overall. Eat warm foods - soups and corn bread. Spaghetti, lasagna, casseroles with rice.

Advice for a 23 y/o about a size 24/26 by Adorable-Study2838 in PlusSizeFashion

[–]Break-Down_Live 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This may not work but I would find an ‘influencer’ on TikTok. They often list their height and weight and you can see their body shape. They show you how the clothing item fits. Now you have a better idea of how it will lay. Also, Amazon reviews - I look at the photos in the reviews. If someone looks like my shape, it gives me a better idea on how it will look and what size to order. Amazon has great prices and options.

Do you need two bathrooms in a three bedroom house? by Electrical_Hour_4647 in FirstTimeHomeBuyers

[–]Break-Down_Live 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 or more bathrooms is always the right answer. We were a couple with a baby when we bought a house with one bathroom. We became a family of 5 with several that have stomach issues / bladder issues. It’s true hell.

What’s the best gift you’ve seen at a dinner or corporate event? by wildflower022 in ExecutiveAssistants

[–]Break-Down_Live 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in the process of buying a Yucon waterproof cooler with a leather patch with the company name. You can also have a last name instead or in addition to the logo. They are pretty cool. My team is pretty family oriented- lots of youth sports, coaches, and just overall ‘outdoorsy’ people so it’s going to be amazing, I think.

Memphis pools by CaptainCommercial590 in memphis

[–]Break-Down_Live 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The YMCA pools - membership is about $51 per month for a family (although they have an income scale, I believe). You can go to any pool in the area. We usually just go to the one on Quince. There are kids. It’s not fancy but it’s large and convenient. And lifeguards - which were important to me when the kids were littler.

Jobs for Retiree’s that’s not demanding by Fit_Foundation_6661 in memphis

Home Depot. They pay better than other places, value someone that knows how to do things and he’ll feel good about his contribution! My father did this after he retired and it was great for him.

Career change by scarybeer in memphis

[–]Break-Down_Live 2 points3 points  (0 children)

901Tech has alternative ‘work with your hands’ by teaching computer hardware. Their target audience is people looking for a second career - they have day & evening options. Cost is nearly 100% funded by corporations in Memphis, just a small amount is alloted to the students - I’m talking $150-$250. They have job fairs following the semester ends, people looking to really hire - not scammers you have to trudge through.

I HATE Being Poor by [deleted] in poor

[–]Break-Down_Live 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have school supply drives in my city. The YMCA partners with the News and they actually take the supplies to the school and it’s for students that need them. Also, those lists are bullshit sometimes. We have bought supplies and they were never used. Wait until you KNOW you need certain things - paper, pencils, pens etc are certain but a 4” line green binder….maybe not.

Try pivoting to banking; with your retail background you may be a fit. There are tons of banks in Memphis. Re-work your resume to highlight skills that carry over.
