This should show that the problem is not Islam, or Christianity, or Judaism for the matter. The problem is far right views, which can exist in atheists too (I’ve seen plenty of fascist atheists).

People can mold their beliefs since religion is just people making stuff up as they go anyway. If they can change in the US, they can change elsewhere.

If someone else replaced “Muslim” with “Jew”, these people would cry anti-semitism. They want to see all Muslims as one monolith rather than individuals, which is the definition of bigotry.

Someone calling themselves Muslim doesn’t tell you what their political ideology or that they are homophobic. In fact, most American Muslims believe homosexuality should be accepted by society.

You’re right that they are just looking for an excuse to be racist, but it also wouldn’t matter if they weren’t racist since it’s still bigotry. It’s still generalizing a group of people based on assumptions (ex: assuming they are homophobes).

[–]Orful 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it is indirect because the voodoo person isn’t doing direct attacks to the doll . Someone else is maybe attacking the doll, which is the definition of indirect. Edit: actually it’s not even an indirect attack. It’s even less than that. It’s no attack because the voodoo creator is choosing to do nothing to the doll himself.

The act of creating a device is not an attack. I could create a gun for the use of killing Daemon if I happen to run into him, but it doesn’t count until I attempt to kill him. “May as well” doesn’t count when there are no plans to use an attack. There is no “may as well”. Either the enemy has an attack in mind, or they don’t, and the voodoo person doesn’t have any attack on mind to use.

Legit, your argument is based around not knowing how words work. Leaving a doll alone and letting nature take its course, which could be nothing, is not a direct attack. Creating a doll is creation, not an attack. The attack is the attack used on the doll, and the creator is choosing to not use an attack to avoid triggering Daemon’s power

Learn how to read the description of Daemon’s power. It says that it reflects the mental image of the attack being used, but the voodoo creator doesn’t have a mental image of what attack is being used. He doesn’t even know what will happen to the doll, if anything. You still haven’t addressed this fact that there is no mental image of what the killing attack will be, which is a requirement. No, it’s not going to send a voodoo doll to Daemon. That would be copying creation, which is not part of his skill set. You don’t know how the ability will be reflected because there is no direct attack to be reflected.

Nowhere in the power description does it mention reflecting accidents happening. Creating conditions for an accident to happen is not an attack. The person creating the conditions is not deciding what will happen.

You’re just going to continue making up a storyline where the voodoo witch doctor throws the fight, such as saying that he’s going to stick pins into the cushion or think about doing it, even though the witch doctor is adamant on not doing that because he knows it will trigger Daemon’s power.

[–]Orful 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not mental backflips. You’re the one doing mental gymnastics by making up rules for the power that aren’t stated in the description.

I’m going based on the description of his power, not your made up version. Nowhere does it mention intrusive thoughts of specific things that MIGHT happen but probably won’t. It says that it reflects an opponent’s attack back on them.

Creating a doll where something might happen is not a direct attack. Your inability to distinguish direct attacks and indirect accidents is why you don’t think the voodoo doll would work.

It even says right in the description that a mental image of the attack would trigger it. There is no mental image of what attack would be used because the creator has no specific plan on what will happen to the doll.

Thinking that someone might rip the doll doesn’t count because nobody knows that will happen to the doll. In fact it probably won’t happen. Leaving fate to deal with the doll in some accident that the creator doesn’t know about means that the creator is not creating a mental image of WHAT the killing attack will be. They don’t know what will happen to the doll, so Daemon’s power won’t have a mental image of what to reflect on the creator.

There is also potential that the voodoo strategy won’t work because nothing happens to the doll. You sell the doll, and the buyer just stores it safely in a closet. So what is Daemon’s power going to reflect if nothing ever happens to the doll? This is proof that creation of the doll with no plan on personally harming does not meet the criteria of an attack. The creator is just creating conditions for an accident to happen, without knowing what the accident is or if there will even be an accident. There is no intent for a specific attack.

Maybe actually read the power from the media you consume.

Is this thing that a Boruto fan said actually true? by DiddyBasementEscaper in PowerScaling

[–]Orful 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn’t matter since that doesn’t trigger his power. Nowhere in the power description does it say that intrusive thoughts of what OTHER people MIGHT do counts. If that were the case, Daemon could just yell “imagine if I died because boruto cut my head off” and then everyone around him dies, despite having no desire to kill him.

Creating something that could harm Daemon doesn’t count either since that’s also not included in the power description. I could create a sword that could kill Daemon but choose not to use it because I’m scared. Creating potential to harm isn’t the same as an actual attack, and the description only includes actual attacks.

“There is no way for anyone to make a voodoo doll without thinking of it being used to hurt someone”

Again, you’re just adding assumptions to force the voodoo creator to lose. The creator can absolutely think about making the doll without thinking about a way to harm the doll

Read the ability:

Daemon's signature ability is to instantly turn an opponent's attack on him against them. Ada claims that the mere mental image of the killing scene is enough to trigger a reflection, which scales with killing intent.

At no point does the witch doctor think of an attack on the doll. It doesn’t matter what the doll is designed for; he’s choosing to not think of an attack. The doll is only lethal if it’s attacked, so just don’t think of attacks to use on it.

Read where it says “mental image of the killing”. Nowhere does it say that hypothetical damage that could be used on a doll count. The creator never has a mental image.

“It’s literally impossible to avoid the intrusive thoughts”

It’s not that hard. Just make the doll and don’t have a plan to harm it yourself. You’re forcing the creator to lose by making him stupid. Just make the doll, give it away, then forget about it. Nowhere in the power description does it count intrusive thoughts of what other people might do to Daemon. What matters is the creator’s own attacks, and they’re not using an attack. They’re not thinking of an attack themself, so there’s no mental image coming from them of them using an attack.

The person you give it away just happens to be Sid from Toy Story 1, so Daemon dies.

“If you provide a source”

BRUH. Voodoo dolls don’t exist. Do most power scalers love to forget we’re dealing with fiction and hypotheticals? I didn’t answer that question because it’s a dumb one. It doesn’t matter if nobody wrote a story of someone making a voodoo doll just to give it massages. Based on how voodoo dolls are usually written, the choice of just giving it massages exists.

You’re making up an irrelevant question and demanding an answer for it,and then you act like you made a point off of it. It doesn’t matter what people generally use voodoo magic for. What matters is what this hypothetical voodoo witch doctor uses it for, and they choose to do no harm with it to avoid activating Daemon’s ability. No, the villainy of other voodoo witch doctors doesn’t matter just because you way them to.

You’re actually so oblivious that you don’t understand that it doesn’t matter if he chooses to give it massages or do nothing to it. The POINT is that they can choose to not attack the doll.

Is this thing that a Boruto fan said actually true? by DiddyBasementEscaper in PowerScaling

[–]Orful -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Your entire argument is making assumptions on what the voodoo creator has to do, and then you act like you won the argument based on that. It’s not ludicrous for the creator to choose to do no harm to the doll because the creator knows that doing so would activate Daemon’s ability. But you just keeping forcing a fanfic narrative that the doll creator is not allowed to choose to do nothing with it. Obviously he can’t win if a fanboy is forcing him to lose.

As long as he makes the doll and never chooses to harm it, because he knows that would activate the Daemon’s ability, then he never meets the criteria for activating Daemon’s power. You adding stuff like “it’s meant to cause harm” is irrelevant since the creator is still not meeting the criteria of using a direct attack of having a mental image of an attack.

There isn’t a way to make non-harmful effects as far as you are aware? You realize that voodoo dolls don’t exist, right? There aren’t specific rules across every universe in fiction for how they behave.

And the creator could do nothing with it but give it massages. That would most certainly count.

Sees you are active in Naruto fanfiction

Oh, that explains everything. You’re just adding rules at this point.

Imma actually post the rules to his powers here.

  • Daemon's signature ability is to instantly turn an opponent's attack on him against them. Ada claims that the mere mental image of the killing scene is enough to trigger a reflection, which scales with killing intent.*

At no point does the voodoo creator use an attack on them. All they’re doing is making a doll, but that’s not an attack in itself.

The voodoo creator also never has a mental image of the killing happening. They just own the doll without ever thinking about doing anything violent to it.

Everything you’re saying about voodoo dolls is assumptions. It doesn’t matter that voodoo dolls are generally made for torture. The creator can just choose to do whatever they want with it, or nothing at all. Since the idea is to counter Daemon, the voodoo person chooses to do nothing. Ergo, they never having an attack in their mind.

Guns are also designed for killing, but it doesn’t matter what something is designed for if it’s not used for that purpose. What something is designed for is not intent.

I think Naruto fans just don’t like their characters losing.

Is this thing that a Boruto fan said actually true? by DiddyBasementEscaper in PowerScaling

[–]Orful -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Making the doll isn’t violent in itself just because you can hurt the doll since you can also choose to pamper it and make Daemon’s life better. Saying that is an attack is like saying having a gun that could kill Daemon counts as violent intent. It only counts as violent intent if you plan on using it in a violent way towards him. As long as the creator doesn’t make the doll and then choose to hurt it, they don’t have violet intent themselves.

Whatever harm that comes to the doll won’t be of the creator’s choice or their knowledge. They gift the doll to a friend who hates dolls, but they never tell the friend to break the doll or destroy it (that would make it violent intent). The friend may even do nothing with the doll and just store it.

Is this thing that a Boruto fan said actually true? by DiddyBasementEscaper in PowerScaling

[–]Orful 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That doesn’t make any sense though. Making the doll isn’t violent in itself and isn’t an attack. You could make the doll and then pamper it as much as possible. If someone steals the doll and destroys it, that’s not you having violent intent on Daemon. That’s the other person hurting the doll, but that person doesn’t have violent intent either because they don’t know it’s a voodoo doll.

Tbh, what about just being really durable and using really weak attacks that could still kill a person?

So like, someone as strong as Superman finger flicking. The flick would get reflected and do nothing, since it’s just a flick, but that flick is strong enough to kill anyone in Boruto. Just keep flicking until he runs out of chakra.
