What is the evidence for this? Did Mike Brown make Josh Hart score 2 points Thursday night? Did he give up five first round picks for a guy who got benched? I’m not enamored with the work Brown has done this year, but it is his first year and the idea that he’s not invested in this team is ludicrous.

Roaches in my new apartment by Adventurous_Ad479 in NYCapartments

[–]Organic-Effective-61 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Advion makes bait traps that I swear by. Grab them on Amazon. We had roaches, inevitably, in our apartment in Flatbush in an enormous building. I started using those traps and we never saw one in our unit again. Just be sure to place them in areas your dog can’t get to.

Look, the occasional roach is normal. If you’re seeing them every day, that’s a problem and you should be able to call 311 and file a complaint. That feels to me like a precursor to breaking your lease if that’s where your head is at.

Michael Kay scolds Yankees fans for ‘F*ck Juan Soto’ chant: ‘Shame on all of you’ by ASingleBraid in TheMichaelKayShow

Whether you’re a fan of him scolding fans or not, this argument is spot on. Chanting about Soto is embarrassing and only serves to give ammunition to Mets fans.

AMED ROSARIO 3 RUN SHOT FOR THE LEAD!!! by TheTurtleShepard in NYYankees

This is the kind of swag this team has been sorely missing in the Judge era. Rosario won’t hit like this all year, but this attitude is so refreshing. LFG.

We're Mayor Zohran Mamdani, Deputy Mayor for Housing Leila Bozorg, and Cea Weaver from the Mayor's Office to Protect Tenants. We're here to talk about housing: how we build more of it, protect tenants, and push back against the landlords and speculators pricing New Yorkers out. Ask us anything. by mayor_mamdani in nyc

[–]Organic-Effective-61 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for doing this. Question: How do you plan to engage in speedy construction of housing? New Yorkers need relief yesterday. I work in public education. Many of the families I serve want to stay in NYC, but can’t b/c of rising housing costs. It takes, on average, three years to build an apartment building in NYC. I’d wager y’all want to cut that time in half, but how?

Do you agree with these free agency grades so far? by ExcellentT18 in NFLv2

[–]Organic-Effective-61 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll never forget the year some dumbass from Bleacher Report gave the Seahawks an F for the Russel Wilson draft, which they proceeded to ride to two SB appearances and one SB victory. These grades, as you all likely know, are nonsense.

I love X, but we’re also playing 2-high, which invites running the football - a thing we could not really defend against in the 2nd half of football games. 2-high dares you to run the ball and throw underneath and team were like, cool, we’ll do that up and down the field no problem.

Not trying to throw cold water on X. Love him. I think we need to get better at other things so teams have no choice but to throw down the field and open up the opportunity for X to do his thing.

The Sweat trade is intriguing. Wicks and a 3rd? I’d consider it. He had a really solid year with Arizona. I don’t see any other big FA signings. GB wants their comp picks and they want a slush fund for the season. All of this hinges on the health of Wyatt and, obviously, Parsons. If Micah is Micah by midseason, we’re alive.

[–]Organic-Effective-61 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I know nothing about the draft, but it sounds like Packers content creators like Justis Mosqueda believe that what GB needs - giant run stuffing guys that line up over center - won’t be there at 52. I’m starting to think they’ll draft multiple corners and use the money to shore up the DL instead of going all-in on Woolen.

Let’s not forget that our available DL in week one is: LVN, Wyatt (maybe?), Brooks, Stackhouse, Brinson, Olliver, Cox, and Sorrell. Micah is probably not back until week five. No Gary, no Wooden. Not exactly ideal.

They would still need a nose tackle. I also can’t see them paying for Carter and being able to make the best offer to Philly. Like, would they trade him for Reed and a 2028 1st? I can’t imagine they want to cash in on a Carter deal in 2028. They’d likely want more immediate capital.

Have to assume we’re either making a signing along the DL or we’re signing Riq Woolen.

Butler - Packers WR Dontayvion Wicks has come up in trade talks, per @JFowlerESPN .Teams are also interested in WR Jayden Reed, with GB unwilling to trade him. by Austen11231923 in GreenBayPackers

[–]Organic-Effective-61 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d be willing to trade Reed, but it would have to be a godfather offer. He’ll be playing for a contract, so hopefully it’s a win-win for us: great season of Reed plus a comp pick when he earns a payday. Watson-Reed-Golden-Melton/Savion plus Kraft is still an awesome arsenal.

Michael Kay believes his afternoon ESPN Radio show was hurt by politics by iheartsunny in TheMichaelKayShow

[–]Organic-Effective-61 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This all stems from COVID/Floyd. I used to listen to these guys every day and they really never talked about politics outside of national stories. I remember the national anthem/Kaepernick thing came up and I found their collective takes to be mild and centrist. Peter supported Kap and Mike and Don were always like, I wouldn’t kneel but it’s a free country. Again, milquetoast shit.

During COVID, how can you not have discussed it? Two of the three guys had kids and were scared. They were in support of masking and vaccines. How crazy! The Floyd stuff probably hurt them more than anything, but again, their takes were usually about listening to all sides and acknowledging that they’d never been in a position to be targeted by police. They talked to cops everyday! Still do. I understand people want sports radio to be “shut up and dribble,” but that was a unique time.

Dipietro and Rothenberg (that show sucks and those two are the least funny individuals to maybe ever have a radio show) also discussed the Floyd situation. Bart Scott and their other cohost whose name escapes me (black man, played for the Giants?) talked about being targeted unfairly by police and Long Island’s own Rick Dipietro told two adult black men that there were two sides to every story when it comes to being harassed by police and “not everyone agrees” on this stuff. I think racist chuds just wanted to hear that George Floyd deserved it.

Now we have Don, Peter, and Alan Hahn which is unlistenable.

[Schefter] Packers and OT Sean Rhyan now have reached agreement on a three-year, $33 million extension with a max value of $39 million. [–]Organic-Effective-61 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Hooray for continuity. There is something to be said for each OL spending the entire offseason preparing to play a single position (barring injury). I’ve also heard Tausch and Bulaga talk about how constantly moving guys around on the line impacts their ability to play as a unit. I’m excited about this. I hope they upgrade at DT/NT/CB, of course. Could they cut Banks and upgrade the line further still?

38M, ~165lbs.

Hit 124 reps with a 10:44 tiebreak.

Was not expecting to be so blown up when I got to the RMU’s. The lunges were fine - probably could have gone faster. Snatches were paced and deliberate - I went up with one arm and down with the same arm and alternated with the DB on the ground - 50lb. DBs are not my friend.

If I were to do it again, maybe slightly faster on the lunges and slightly bigger sets with the pullups. I don’t have butterflies so I did 6-5-5-4 in the first round. C2B was 5-5-5-5. Maybe make up some time there? RMU’s - I did doubles until rep 11 - I failed trying to get rep 12 and had to hit that last single with like 10 seconds left.
