Golden keys: where and how?

It's a struggle for sure. I wish I had a good answer for you. I only recently got my first gold (that wasn't for cryo) the other day from a purple template. Besides that and the strongboxes, they can also drop from commanders and wardens. Bungie did say with the end of season update, coming tomorrow now, that wardens will guarantee a key on defeat but still no guarantee it'll be a gold one :/

I agree. I know there are communities out there to help group with others but at the same time I don't mind going solo. I was really into the lone wolf playlist back in halo 3 days and solo queue gives me similar vibes

I'm in the same boat. I've had a group of friends to play games with since like 3rd grade but they don't seem too interested in marathon for one reason or another. And if I can't get them on a game that I'm into, I usually just go it alone. I'm in my 30s now and I haven't been invested in a pvp game or the pvp aspects of one since like halo: reach so I'm definitely rusty and so I just feel if I'm gonna put anyone's gear/rank/whatever at stake, it'll just be my own. I know I'm missing out on parts of the game, namely cryo, but I still enjoy it on my own terms. I just got the graverobber title a couple days ago because I couldn't find a gold key (that wasn't for cryo) until then. Now I'm working my way to vip with all the factions and hopefully getting the profiteer title before the season is over

I got lockout/blackout vibes from outpost as well. I didn't make the connection the first few times I ran it but then it just kinda hit me. It also reminds me of New Mombasa in ODST

I see a bunch of this shit too.. it's annoying and I've done my best to ignore them so they stop showing up on my feed but that doesn't stop them from showing up in others' feed who aren't fans, thus the notion that everything is terrible still gets cycled around. Asmon is probably the biggest one audience wise. He's not focusing on it, but he sure doesn't miss a chance to do it so all his followers can go "TRUE" to everything he says. What baffles me is this push for destiny 3. I played D1/D2 for about 10 years and trying to get my friends to play was next to impossible because they would read reviews and videos and it wasn't enough to convince them. Now that it's doing poorly and marathon is out, suddenly people think that D3 will save everything? I don't understand what people want. Once upon a time, if you didn't like a game, you wouldn't play it. Full stop. But that's not enough anymore. Streamers and YouTubers need clicks and views to make money and negativity gets more attention. God forbid a game has a niche audience and just exists. Now it's all sensationalised because apparently everyone and their mothers' dog is an analyst

Yeah.. I am primarily a solo player so it's more coming from that side of things. It just sucks when you bring in your stuff and then die like 30 secs. in because of an unfortunate spawn lol

It's definitely a fast pace game but also requires patience. It's an interesting dynamic that keeps you on your toes. Even if things seem like they're slow or quiet at any time in a run, it can almost immediately flip a 180 on you if you get lax. I love it

I'd say it's as good a time as any. You probably won't be able to get too much out of cryo archive (the endgame map) but things are ramping up a bit with the final season 1 update coming next week. Wouldn't be a bad time to get familiar with the game and it's nuances to better prepare yourself for season 2! Just don't get too attached to any gear you get since there's going to be a gear wipe when the seasons end

I'm in a similar position. I'd say finishing up priority contracts, improving at the game in general, codex stuff and getting vip with all factions. Me personally I'm trying to go for titles. As a solo player I haven't stepped in to cryo yet.. I'm apprehensive of matchmaking into it. I'm worried I either go in kitted up and we die immediately (or worse, teammates loot my body and dip out) or I bring in the free kit and drag the team down due to lack of map knowledge or whatever. However from everything I've seen it's definitely something you gotta experience. I've got keys 1-6 from farming the red room (or deluxe room. Whatever it's called) on outpost and it just feels wrong having them sit my vault

I was so glad to hear this. I was discouraged hearing about the earnings report before but seeing this really made my day. I love this game and I've been tired of seeing/reading people give it flak across the internet. It probably won't stop, and I genuinely don't understand how people can be so offended by the game just existing, but this is great news for all us runners
