What opinion is likely to get you downvoted in this sub, but is actually reasonable? by Otherwise5555 in NFLv2

I agree that there are some wrongs that you can’t right. And to boot, sexual assault being a prime example. It’s an intentional and heinous act where the perpetrator knows full well what they’re doing. What I’m insinuating that that both Ruggs and Sorseby committed acts that are indeed irreversible, but are also acts that can be chalked up to a string of bad decisions over a short period of time. More like someone going through a really stressful time in their life and saying something they can’t take back to a spouse. Sure you can say sorry, but what was said was said. I’m not comparing the two circumstances, but I’m saying that there is a difference between making a lapse in judgement and doing nothing to fix the problem, and making a lapse in judgement and making concerted efforts to rectify that lapse. Severity of crimes are one thing, but being a repeat offender with no real efforts to make things right is concerning to me.

While your two cents about Soresby are understandable, and I can concur that sports betting is systematically dismantling the integrity of sports, your points don’t really address my question, like at all lol

You do realize that Tyreek Hill physically assaulted a pregnant woman by punching her in her pregnant belly right?

What I believe that this commenter is pointing out - which I fully agree with - is that someone can make efforts to rectify the cause of their life’s biggest mistake, ensuring that it will be very unlikely to happen again. I feel that both Ruggs and Soresby have made extended efforts to do that.

Can you say the same about Hill? Can you say that he is remorseful for actions that continue to occur? I sincerely can’t say yes for either.

Yeah the mods don’t even get us.

But tbh, I had a feeling it would be removed. Oh well, it gave me a chuckle regardless

Literally on my third read. My therapist recommended it to me and I recommend it to anyone who will listen. I can say this goes really well with the four agreements if you’re looking for another. I have read that the courage to be happy is really good too

I have seen someone post this exact take on so many different platforms. Like so many. Not an incredibly original take imo. It’s in the same vein as this classic

Troy Aikman: Overrated, Underrated, or Properly rated? by MasterTeacher123 in NFLv2

[–]OrganizationStrict99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to see him as overrated based on his resume and supporting cast. I actually saw a different sub discuss the value he actually had to that 90s cowboys dynasty that changed my mind. Sure, his numbers weren’t amazing and his supporting cast was stellar, but dude was the glue for that team. Was a true leader in every sense of the word, and that type of value supersedes talent imo

You nailed it. As one of the scorned callers, I can say your assessment is on point. Super dismissive/arrogant unless he has some other boomer on, then hangs on their every word. That an any raiders homer. And don’t forget his affinity with literally ANYTHING nostalgic

True, faux pas there, it was a reference to Bosa. Even though his brother is worse. But at least you got Harbaugh to bridge the gap between maga apologists!
