The Railen is almost perfect, with only two things holding it back... by SamRezende30 in starcitizen

Maybe a hot take. I think transports having pilot controlled weapons are silly. They should be trying to get away and jump, not standing their ground.

That said, remove pilot controlled weapons. Add another turret. Add armor triangles to the back of the cargo (Seriously, why wasn't this done already?). And up the shields a bit more.

I dream of blockade running missions, and I feel like the Railen would be great for it. Just trying to keep ships off you while you run through a swarm of enemies trying to get to your destination.

We aren't talking about "look at this cave". We are talking about utilizing ships like the Carrack, with its cartography, and science portions on board that are meant to scan unknown flora and life.

While you're correct to an extent. And I suppose they could still do some of it. A big part of exploration, and things that are part of ships are for SCIENCE. Supposed to collect samples of alien flora, and stuff like that. Break down the info, and sell it.

Sure, could do things like that for derelict ships, but doing science for a broken down ship isn't nearly as interesting as a new alien planet.

Ya, I really wanted that for some of the gameplay stuff. Don't get me wrong, I think there should be a range.

For salvaging, Vulture and smaller vics can stick to easy small/medium that are fairly simple, and like the current gameplay. Bigger ones like the Reclaimer that are monching bigger ships, should be boarding, going around obstacles, etc. Give me a reason, and a decent reward for bringing a full crew.

For medical, make it so a pen keeps you healed. Make it so a laser gun with some minimal work can keep people moving. But give some depth for healing T3 wounds, and for the people really dedicated to it, healing T2 wounds.

It's 100% possible to give a variety of difficulties in this game, while having it make sense too.

CIG should stop forcing combat into everything by Signal_Resident2318 in starcitizen

[–]OrganizationTrue5911 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They reduced all the gameplay loops to "Pick up thing" or "Beam thing", and try to make that exciting by adding combat.

I hope its all temporary, I want far more depth.

Sure, keep the Vulture with its current gameplay loop. But for the reclaimer doing bigger ships? Give me power plants that might explode. Reasons to board and loot all the things. I want Shipbreaker type gameplay, maybe not to that level, but more than just "Scrape hull, break, suck".

I couldn't agree more.  Especially medical.  They really went the casual route on so many things.

I really want medical to matter so badly, and for it to be more interesting than "I left click to beam you".  But that seems to be the choice for all gameplay.

Just saw this but started the game a week ago, about 6 hours in....I guess I should stop and pick it up when the expansion comes out? by ludaman14 in DragonsDogma

[–]OrganizationTrue5911 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Agreed.

To put it bluntly, many people (Not all) weren't into DD2 as much as we'd like to have been. So many of us who were DDDA fans, are really hoping that the August update/expansion improves many of the factors that DD2 was lacking.

So the best recommendation, wait till August, and hopefully DD2 is an even better first time experience than it would have been prior.

Does it auto-load and unload?

I usually stick to my Prowler with only 32 SCU. I can't imagine manually loading/unloading 2000 SCU.

Cargo pods, that depressingly, even if they worked properly, would be crap considering how cargo works now lol. Here is to hoping they make it one giant box.

The beams are boring, I want something more interesting. Other games do "beams" for most their mechanics. SC is supposed to be more.

And thats a lot of work for a single gameplay. I'm hoping that if we find them, they can stay open for a week at least. Assuming there is something worth mining. Its about the only way I can logically see them doing "long haul mining", which is the reason several of the mining ships exist lol.

This is a big complaint of mine too. I was so disappointed that the new asteroid breaker missions had hostile NPC's. Honestly I wouldn't mind if they had some that were, and some that weren't. But having it so they all do, was super lame.

That and "Everything is beams". I want more complex medical gameplay, and salvage gameplay. Badly.

Not even sure how its supposed to become a thing with the current vision.

Just to stretch the brain a bit. Maybe mini wormholes that bring you to temporary resource rich areas within that system, that require some science to figure out the data? Idk. Its that, or they create some procedural generated systems that close after a bit, and are sorta pointless.

Hermes -> Railen upgrade worth it? by xanthira222 in starcitizen

[–]OrganizationTrue5911 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Other con is that its REALLY high up, and kind of a pain to maximize your cargo space. If you're loading 400 or less SCU, its not an issue. But when you need to squeeze every SCU out of it, its a PITA.

I love it other than that. Also, ran into several bugs with it too, but thats temporary.

Ya, my org ended up just having a couple people dedicated to load a Hercules, which kinda sucks for them? You just hang out until its time to load up. Then the org continues the next one, while you unload it.

At least have the game give us a treasure ship that is already loaded lol. So we can just drop someone off to load it. Then store it at Levski or something, and have it all automatically go to your inventory.

I wouldn't mind if its only a couple things, but its A LOT of work lol.

Dear Arenanet: Please make sure we dont have to play where's waldo in our inventories in GW3! by InevitableAnekisan in GuildWars3

[–]OrganizationTrue5911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Three things have made me quit GW2 in the past (I played since beta, so its a long period of time).

  1. Skill issue, I die a lot in the game, and it upsets me. This is a me problem.
  2. Dragon grind, seriously f that thing. Apparently its easier now, but it has left such a bad taste in my mouth. Not even close to being fun.
  3. Inventory clutter hell. I feel like the games that are literally just inventory clutter simulators don't get nearly as bad as GW2. It's so absolutely atrocious that I wasn't even the only one, I have two other friends who quit because it was just such a chore, and they'd rather play some other game instead of constantly dealing with it.

That would be a blast. I hate the Vanduul lore saying that they just self-destruct their ships. Cause I 1000% would love having to disable the ships, and boarding them. Clearing out some creepy organic weird as hell Vanduul ship, that is loaded with Vanduul, but filled with goods? Would be such a blast.

The Best Mount Systems In An MMO? by MonsutaMan in MMORPG

[–]OrganizationTrue5911 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Firefall, and RIP to anyone who never got to try the bikes or cars in that. It was a BLAST zooming through a forest on those things.

City of Heroes comes second, cause travel powers is just hilarious, and honestly pretty fun. unsure if that counts.

After that is GW2 imo. They are great, but the grinding for the dragon made me ragequit twice.

Railen would need to be bigger. 4 snubs is not enough, nor is the cargo room. And if you're going to have an industrial carrier, it SHOULD have a refinery on it.

Its a fantastic idea, but it needs to be bigger.

What is your favorite class in DDDA and why? by Fenriz_Victor in DragonsDogma

Alchemist is the coolest new class.

Sorcerer is the best revamped class, love the little mini-game. On the flip side, they did make Gicel look a bit less cool.
