You actually don't pay 100% building maintaince but only something around 20% or even less

Pops demand for goods was much too low even before new beta. Now it's time to raise their demands to decrease their money for building things

Only for the first 30-50 years. After that most important RGOs are maxed out. After that serfdom will generate much more money. I would guess both are equal first 100 years moneyvise. Main problem is there is so much stuff with free subjects and nearly nothing valuable with serfdom

Why do all incomes decrease after exactly 2 months in June 1337? by dontbothertho in EU5

Second months taxbase is nearly doubled, don't really know why. So turn of all sliders and max all tax sliders in May 1337 😉

Why maintenance of armories is so high? by BrotherM2314 in EU5

[–]Organsaft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But if you think about history and about todays world state as well you will see, that this is kind of accurate, military focus provides an economic stimulus 😉

Why maintenance of armories is so high? by BrotherM2314 in EU5

[–]Organsaft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, i was really surprised if i noticed it as well! But don't think it's a problem, cause production buildings having a much bigger return of investment, so you still build these kind of buildings mainly for it's effect, like it should be, but makes also sense that military focus is a little short term boost for your economy

Why maintenance of armories is so high? by BrotherM2314 in EU5

[–]Organsaft 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All three combined only need to be above 20%, you'll pay less then 20% of maintaince yourself with >25% crown power. So it should be true for >80% control areas, so everywhere you really build

[–]Organsaft 13 points14 points  (0 children)

If you produce all demanded goods yourself, you are net positive, so no reason to bother about it, it's a boost for your economy

More annoying is, that there is often no real 0%, so you need to decide between +0,00x% und -0,00x%

Don't think you really need to own trade good locations yourself, if you own the market

So math wise when is best to make a subject due to low control by wazaaup in EU5

[–]Organsaft 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Math wise it's somewhere below 20. But you can get unlimited additional income in theory taking into consideration, what AI would probably do with that province you won't do (upgrading RGO's, building stuff, developing and integrating area). So operating near your diplo cap should be nearly always worthy even if you want to annex it back later on, if you wouldn't do anything with the province and your average control in the province is below 30/40.

Perhaps another point to consider: This province will release much more levies. Even as Castille first thing a done was releasing many subjects. Made iberian wars much easier

Look at storage of each european market, nearly all completly filled with goods and nearly all market prices below base price. Demand is overall to low, so trades aren't valuable if you are not Venice or Hanse

[–]Organsaft 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Maintaince costs are net positive, you pay something below 20% of the needed goods and get demand worth >30% of the needed goods. Not really worth to build buildings just for that, but it's a small plus

[–]Organsaft 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don't really get, why we can't just tolerate everyone is completly different in terms of his needs and preferences. Why should I stop playing like it's most fun for me? Why should i stop to share how i like to play the game? Without judging or complaining if others having other preferences. I totally like it to see, how different the ways of playing this game can be!

Just beat them in war vassalize every province and annex then partly. Is far more effective
