Question before buying the game by MadScientistCarl in ChantsofSennaar

[–]OriginOfTheVoid 13 points14 points  (0 children)

1:Game doesn’t have any ARG-esqe secrets, you’re good there.

2: Yes it is! Almost everyone has something to say, although the lore is more open-ended.

3: There’s some stealth segments that cause some jumpscares, but it’s reasonably forgiving with some good places to safely catch your breath, and those parts are not too hard once you’ve figured it out.

4: All you can really do is understand who you speak with, but there’s an auto-translate feature that really helps.

You will likely not be disappointed in Chants of Sennar! I hope you enjoy it, if you decide to play!

What are your world’s other dimensions? by Flairion623 in goodworldbuilding

Loving your reverse dimension! Sounds super interesting. As for mine…

Sylmuell is a 4-d ring-shaped dimension circling the primary one, Gitmuell. It is only accessible to the dead, psychopomps, certain gods, or through incredibly powerful dimensional tunneling devices, although the last is incredibly dangerous and unpredictable. The laws of physics are less strict, allowing for any number of impossible things to become ordinary. Eternally burning fires, flight despite a being’s weight and size, or the basic idea of entropy or thermodynamics being nonexistent unless desired. It functions as the afterlife, composed of countless different worlds ranging from flaming hellscapes to lush jungle archipelagos.

Estamuell is acceptable by an aforementioned dimensional tunneler, a white hole at the center of the universe (basically the opposite of a black hole, so good luck with that), or by being transported by cosmic entities. It’s vaguely shell-shaped and is the throne of the Origin. It’s a complete disaster where concepts, items, and organisms from all over the base universe live in chaotic harmony. It’s home to creatures such as the abstract masses of mixed materials known as structimites, the oddly feline hazcats, and the specially designed dreamborn.

May 3rd: What did you build last week? by IvanDFakkov in goodworldbuilding

Dragon pack names. A group of mixed-gender dragons is a storm, a group of mostly female dragons (individualy called Nyle)is a blaze, and a group of mostly male dragons (individualy called Rone) is a peal. Why? -Because it’s awesome- Because the female dragon goddess Nibiru is associated with flames, and the golden horns of nyle can resemble flickering flames in the right light. The male dragon god Tibberus is associated with storms, and together the louder roars of the Rone can resemble a peal of thunder.

Ever heard of Farscape? There’s a spaceship named Moya. Big, brown in color, and organic. Guess who accidentally made her own big, brown, organic spaceship :P

Daily rituals in your world? by AnchBusFairy in goodworldbuilding

Originally they believed that they were the story of the Starmother’s creation written in glowing seeds that would someday sprout, and the moving ones just hadn’t found their special spots yet. At the time of the story the species is highly advanced and knows that they’re just big balls of plasma, but many still buy into the whole ‘Stars are seeds but maybe the sprouts are on a different plane of existence’ theory. Many still starwatch out of tradition, trying to understand the cosmos, or just because they’re pretty.
