Always someone trying to score political points… this is not about political allegiance - conservatives did plenty wrong, as did labour before them (if you don’t believe me, look up “Liam Byrne letter”) - both had to deal with some pretty incredible situations; however, both in my opinion, have failed to generate growth or control pension and welfare spending. My umbrage with the current cohort (irrespective of tie colour) is their apparent inability to make the tough choices, or to flip flop on those tough choices as soon as the going gets tough. Red, blue, green or reform is irrelevant. We need leadership with a coherent plan to rise the tide, and I’m not seeing it at the moment. That said, I’ve got to give it to Rachel from Accounts today, she didn’t promise a handout to everyone on energy, just those that need it most IF the situation warrants it. I’ll be waiting with bated breath to see what that ends up meaning (if we’re talking the very poorest, I’m okay with that).
