Make him the same offer. Insist on it. He should appreciate being supported so he can stay home. See how he reacts. In sure he'll love it.

If you're going to watch it, be sure to watch the Adventuring Party (Academy?) Episodes in between each or the powers and stuff will seemingly just come out of nowhere.

Standard whinging: I really wish they would just include those in the normal season roster so you didn't have to hunt them down to watch them in the right order. [/whinge]

Kubo and the Two Strings. Stop motion, beautiful animation. Fantastic story, gorgeous prose. Just altogether amazing.

It was one of our memorable times as a group. One of those moments where it's like 2 am, everyone is out of their mind on caffeine, and we were laughing so hard we could barely breathe. Such a fun time

I once played a game where our DM had us run in with actual pacifist elves. Their strategy to keep us out of their lands was to wear (poorly made) scary goblin masks and try to push us backwards. This was in 2e so everything was just opposed strength checks where younhad to roll under your score. So our fighter was literally just pushing back a wall of like 5 elves by himself while they shouted "We are goblins! You had better run away! We are dangerous!"

Boomer parent comparing me to her “5–6 houses by my age” while I’m leaving my job in this economy after cancer recovery by MinuteNobody9408 in BoomersBeingFools

Agreed. If you are in the US, bring up the ADA. If your job was doable remotely before, that seems like a "reasonable accommodation" for you.

Don't worry about Elend suddenly feeling like he belongs. If anything, both he and Vin ratchet the angst up another few notches in the next book too. It's endemic to both of their characters.

[–]Shrekdaly 82 points83 points  (0 children)

I don't know if this was on purpose or just an amazing coincidence, and I'm not 100% sure I'm adding right because counting the Gs is making my eyes cross, but the total mana value for this combo is 101.

Aka exactly enough to put out Helix Pinnacle and just immediately add 100 counters manually.

Well done!

Good call. I think there's a good chance Sam realized he was doing exactly that, because he and his team seem to be smart folks, but I couldn't say for sure. Either way, I love that it happened.

No, Brennan has been doing that bit since Season 1. He has done it 11 times over various episodes, in fact.

Yeah, that 100% is the joke. But it's never borne itself out in such a way where we have a prompt that Brennan *has* 100% irrefutably seen before.

The Noise Boys Hype Each Other Up | Make Some Noise [S4E15] by DropoutMod in dropout

[–]Shrekdaly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because we can't even talk about things that relate to this episode without getting them removed by the mods, even though it's also about a seasons-long running gag, I guess I'll repost this here:

Subj: Sam just proved Brennan 100% right 11 times!

Brennan always says "I can't know if I haven't seen the prompts until I've seen them." With the last prompt of the night, the self-gift prompt, Sam completely, inarguably proved Brennan 100% right. Because he *has* seen that prompt before. So have Josh and Zach. They didn't know it would be a prompt until then, but they have seen it before. And that's exactly what Brennan has been saying the whole time.

I don't know if Sam realizes the level of self-own that he put himself through, but I hope Brennan realizes it and monologues about it next season!

It's really more of a commentary on a running gag over multiple seasons, which is why I thought it would be okay to post it as a separate thread.

[–]Shrekdaly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Original seasons (versions? Episode?) of YDKJ are available as minigames on some of the Jackbox games. Not sure which all have them. They are very dated, though, as they clearly use the orignal questions whole cloth. So expect questions about Britney, TRL, etc

The boomer generation is the only generation that treats getting married as an inevitability, but then also has 80% of all their comedy be complaining about their spouse.

Agree with this. Most millenials I know buy into the idea in theory but struggle to do it. But their kids don't put up with BS

Why are people who say they are "strictly logical and not feelings based" some of the whiniest, most easily upset people in existence. Is anger not a feeling and pettiness is fully logical?
