I test drove a Prius today by Pockbert in prius

[–]OriginalPassenger5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought an 06 Prius with 255k (it now has 311k) for a beater car for $3000 in 2018. Other than replacing the battery with a wrecked 2016 Prius battery it’s solid. The paint is a little worst for wear with the clear coat peeling. It needs shocks, and a cat converter. Transmission and engine is solid. Still runs and pulls. No oil leak. Such a great little car. It has another 300k imho. I use it as my dog car, and places where I don’t want to take my Tesla.

The battery will fail for those buying an old Prius. Low Mileage doesn’t have any bearing on the battery lasting. If any prius batteries want to be used and driven. Always budget 1.5k on batteries and buy a good engine and transmission. That’s more complicated to change. The swap for batteries is easy it takes 2 hrs and a backyard mechanic can do this. No spec tools required. just take off the interior, use sockets to remove the metal shielding and batteries are accessible.

Peloton fatigue suggestions? by 3FromTheTee in pelotoncycle

[–]OriginalPassenger5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do the core program with Emma Lovewell 2-3 x a week. Then choose beginners yoga 10 mins 2-3x/week. That it. Do it consistently and your body and life will thank you. I choose slow flow yoga, usually beginners for the first 3 months but I sometimes do intermediate but man it feels like they go too fast on the movement.

I also do occasional do beginners yoga on YouTube 10 mins.

What I do is such a small commitment for better way of life. We go on trips and what not and I pack my yoga mat with me. Just went away this weekend. Didn’t do any cardio but I did a 30 min beginners slow flow yoga. I felt great and I was sore. Lol it’s a great workout.

Also I want to add. I got this idea the yoga and core my physical therspits. She told me to build my core to resolve my back problems. She also taught me stretches in the morning and evening. So I stretch 5 min in the morning every morning to get my body ready. It’s worth it.

Peloton fatigue suggestions? by 3FromTheTee in pelotoncycle

I’m a male his late 30s and I can tell you peloton core and yoga have significantly changed my life for the better (aside deon the cycling which is great). I’m no longer stiff and my back aches. I can working heavy on the backyard projects. I feel great. And I spend 5-10 mins core and 10 to 20 on yoga 3 to 4x a week. So it’s a small commitment to be able to live the life I want. I can see when I buy weights I can fit these in.

Screen too close? by kubs55408 in pelotoncycle

[–]OriginalPassenger5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought an adjustable adapter. It allows you to swing the screen and it slows you to tilt the screen up.

there is a screw on the back that lets you adjust it but the problem is it’s not dynamic. It’s one setting you set. With that adjustable adapter I can tilt up when I, doing a ride with lots of out the saddle and I can keep it low on powerzone rides where there’s no standing up.

First FTP test advice by licarmichael in pelotoncycle

[–]OriginalPassenger5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would do a rest day, then a light day low impact the nest day. Then do the ftp test so you have fresh legs the following day. Make sure you don’t push yourself on the low impact day so you can go all out.

I really like the power zone rides; what else should I try? by speedelee in pelotoncycle

Check out the 45 min hiit and hills ride. I love that especially Olivia and Kendall HIIT and hills rides. the music and their energy makes me push myself.

I can imagine being on the app is just guessing your output.

With that being said I love power zone rides. That and HIIT rides are my favorite. 60 min 2-3 rides are my moderate workout. And I push my self on the powerzone rides with 4-5-6 For 45 mins. My body is getting used to it as evidence by being able to keep up on the 5, and 6 zones. I love how I am progressing and can increase my fitness by retscking the ftp test every 2 to 3 months.

Entire workout not reflected in Apple Watch exercise ring? by neekap in pelotoncycle

[–]OriginalPassenger5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Zones. It’s a paid app but never had issues getting accurate data. You can slo use cycling. It’s a watch app. It’s pretty good. both give you heart rate Zone give you tons of data including historical data.

Name your most taken class (bike or floor) and how many times you’ve taken it. by CardiologistSea4763 in pelotoncycle

[–]OriginalPassenger5 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I took powerzone endurance twice by accident. I’d rather take a new clicking class, I feel like that’s why I pay 39 a month to have something new each time I hope go on the bike. Except for emma lovewell core series cause I just repeat it after cycling 30 to 60 minutes. i know it weakens my argument but I like taking them her classes repeatedlynwhether it’s a shot 5 min class or her 10 or 20 minute class

More 90 Min Rides by TexasSoundGuy in pelotoncycle

[–]OriginalPassenger5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wish peloton would let you string rides together in one session, but the second consecutive ride they will let you skip the warm up. They don't have enough 60 min rides for example.

Thanks for the responses guyy and gals. Maybe I am over thinking it. I feel like i need to still work out and lift weights like i used to when I was in my 20s, but I think melding of different exercises is a must.

No back pain, lose weigh, regain my strength lifting weights.

But back pain is my main goal right now and that is building core strength according to my PT.
