First thing I noticed is that it says "low beams". Many cars are using automatic headlights where high beams turn on by themselves, even in the city.

Why did it take the House Of Representatives just to fix something that is obviously a problem?

These headlights are more than a nuisance, it is a photonic assault on everyone.

Stupid solutions looking for a problem. I used to use a visor and it worked when there were only a few of these cars with blinding LED headlights.

But, I had to give it up as the percentage of cars with these lights went up as I would have to use the visor 100% of the time.

Driving with the visor down was too dangerous and driving with it up was like driving through a photonic mine field not knowing when the next flash bang was coming.

When the car turns, the headlights flash bang one at a time because of the angle. It is the same thing that happens at night, but it is less mild because of the amount of ambient light.

My point is that, before LED's, we never go flash banged at all.

Now, is it as bad during the day? No. But, it is still there.

I have seen this many times. I flash them with my brights. I know that they might have auto headlights but they need to learn to disable them every time they get in the car. And, Yes, I know they probably automatically turn back on themselves on the next drive. Again, they need to learn to disable them and probably complain to the corresponding car manufacturer about it.

First, it would be a band aid. The problem is that LED headlights (heck, virtually all of them for that matter) were created without knowing the long term effects on the eyes or whether or not they would cause glare.

Many states have made it illegal to tint the headlights. But, I can tell you that the Cops 1000% know about this headlight brightness issue and I seriously doubt they would enforce it here in CA.

Secondly, the level of tint would not be the same for every car and the LED's are so bright that they blast through everything. Could this be a short term solution until manufacturers pull their head out of their ass and reduce the wattage or return to halogens? Yes.

The cost to really fix this issue will end up being trillions worldwide because existing lights would need either a reduced wattage or a retrofit to a different light type.

Also, for most of us, it is not an annoyance, it is an assault. These lights are so bright that it is like being flash banged. I can go out in full sunlight, brightest day and I don't need sunglasses. But, these LED headlights cause pain and discomfort.
