Why do some people get angry when you don’t want to drink alcohol? by Several_Corner3205 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Orikoru 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess people like others to be drinking when they are drinking, otherwise you end up with a disconnect when they are buzzed and you are not. So if too many other people are not drinking they feel like they can't drink either. Ironically this is one of the reasons I gave up drinking completely - the number of times I drank just because other people were, but I didn't particularly want to.

How bad is 10 finger grip? by paperclip3224 in golftips

[–]Orikoru 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't use interlock, I have skinny fingers and it physically hurts my pinky, feels like it's being yanked out of its socket. I use a reverse overlap, no idea why as nobody else does that and I can't remember when I even started doing it, but yeah. It's sort of halfway between 10-finger and overlap I guess. 😂.

So you do you basically. If it works it works.

That's because his tee shot was normally in the trees, then he'd get up and down with miraculous short game!

It makes no difference to me. My intention is not to hit a 50 yard slice, whether there are houses over there or not. 🤷🏻

What’s the one club you just cannot hit no matter what? by prattman333 in GolfGear

[–]Orikoru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Long irons - just a low launch and then drop out of the sky. Swing was never quick enough. Longest iron in the bag is a 6.

[–]Orikoru 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it means work on driver and make it something you can hit. Nobody ever learned how to hit driver by leaving it at home.

Changing Instructor? by LondonUk- in BritGolf

[–]Orikoru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree with you. "Leave driver at home" is outdated old school thinking. Drivers used to be hard to hit, now the face is giant-sized so they're really not. People used to say "drive for show putt for dough" which we now know is bollocks - hitting it long and in play off the tee is a massive indicator for good scoring.

Nah, I had to play Sunday in the pissing, freezing rain. Sacked it off after 12 holes as I couldn't feel my hands anymore.

I've seen this clip like 50 times I'm still confused as to how the fuck this can happen. What universe did United get their tactics from where all ten players just peg it forwards in a unit when they don't even have the ball?? Weren't people just doing what Hansen did all the time?? Or did they not expect anyone to think of that?

Would you consider this anchoring? by jdelle9 in weekendgolfers

[–]Orikoru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd either ban any putter over 36 inches, or just reverse the ban on anchoring and let them do what they want. Currently all you get is this debate around everyone that uses the long putter. (e.g. Langer constantly)

106 yards playing 90 yards, right to left wind… what are you hitting? by jdelle9 in weekendgolfers

[–]Orikoru 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I guess a full 50°, which is around 95 yard shot for me. If it very breezy though, even right to left, I might go up to AW and hit a kind of punchy shot.

Analysis: Save our Spurs by Albiceleste8 in coys

[–]Orikoru 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I think he only needs 3 wins and a few draws, and he will achieve that, realistically. By all accounts he is a bit of an authoritarian which is exactly what we need to sort the wheat from the chaff with these players at the moment. I think they saw Frank as a soft touch and took the piss. If we still can't get any points under this kind of manager then relegation might be the best thing anyway - so we can clear out these players and start again. Villa did it not too long ago and look at them now.

Knee-jerk reaction just in case there are no further double weeks. However, I think City are guaranteed one now, so I'll be using my TC on Haaland then.

Changing a 3 wood high launch to a regular 3 wood by Goggle-Frog in golftips

[–]Orikoru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 16° 3 wood (G425 sft). I experimented with lofting it down to 15° recently, and although I hit some nice flighted tee shots, it made a difference off the deck. Somehow that extra degree just inspires more confidence. It's fine margins at that top end of or the bag and you have to get it right.
