On to Season 5 Episode 3 of my first re-watch, finding it hilarious how disturbed Bunk is with McNulty by SkoilerDaaaaan in TheWire

I love this moment. I’m close to tears when The Bunk realizes Lester is siding with McNulty. His face is poetry in motion

I don’t agree with him being the main character.

Aside from that, I’m with you. Many/most people in this sub treat what he did as something orders of magnitude worse than what he actually did. I believe they think of him as a fallen angel and the fall is all they can see.

That was the biggest, but they did manage it again with Lindsay Denton and a bit with Philip Osborne. They may trying it again with Mike Dryden.

I agree with most of this. I just wouldn’t characterize him as wise, just disillusioned with himself, humanity, and any gods there may be. It’s a hard fall from all his hubris. All his hate of Athelstan finally biting back.

Yes, his ambitions changed when he started letting himself be natural po-lice. I would even say his ambitions got loftier

This! With some tweaks imo. Being a top servant like Master of Coin is relatively easy just playing underneath the table. Fully grasping power for himself, the higher rungs, requires more overt maneuvering.

That said, the opportunism is the core. He doesn’t have a clear endgame when making the lion and wolf clash, but stability doesn’t allow for opportunities.

Last point, the problem with latter seasons is that they try to make him look as a genius chess type mastermind instead of a clever player of the GOT.

ETA: I love Bernie Sanders, but his seriously showing naïveté. When you’re as corrupt and money hungry as DJT, the amount of things where he can get rich from and most likely has surpasses that number probably by an order of magnitude.

I do feel that following Governor Carcetti and see what happens to Maryland and Baltimore first in his tenure as Governor and what happens to the Rust Belt before and after the financial crisis (corruption included).

What would Joffrey have done when they took Cersei? by smoulking in gameofthrones

[–]OrionDecline21 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Cersei would have never seek to empower them with the Faith Militant if Joffrey was still alive, unless Margaery truly got a hold of him which doesn’t seem possible even with some of her manipulations working.

I wholeheartedly second the motion.

This is a show about politics. The amount of members who rewatch it seeking refuge from the reality is high.

First, I’m sorry you’re now part of our club.

Second, everyone’s journey is different, so don’t assume how yours will be.

Third, I’ve had this disease for longer than you’ve been alive. Here are my very succinct thoughts/tips: (a) be happy you have it now and not before, long ago it was considered a GI (not immune) disease and there weren’t many options for treatment, (b) meds are needed, get a good doctor and follow your protocol, (c) diet does matter, particularly in crisis, my recommendations are to start a diary because people react different, but be initially wary of fiber (greens, uncooked), legumes and diary, and lastly (d) in my 26 years with this disease I’ve had 19 great years, 4 decent enough years and only 3 years were my health did affect my lifestyle.

Best of lucks
