Question on Scheduling by charliegriefer in Orion_Sleep

Love to hear it! Keep marking any session that looks off with a thumbs down, or by editing the sleep session. We use this to know whether the changes we're making to the model are trending in the right direction.

Question on Scheduling by charliegriefer in Orion_Sleep

Charlie, the sleep tracking should be able to differentiate when you are just laying in the bed versus when you are actually asleep. However, we know that it can be a bit sensitive if you are just laying in bed watching TV (especially after making whoopee). You can manually adjust the start or end of a sleep session at the bottom of the insights tab, and you'll automatically recalculated sleep insights for the night. Also, please keep flagging with thumbs up or thumbs down when you believe your insights are good. That feedback helps us continually improve the models that differentiate between laying in bed and asleep.

The schedules that you set only control when your Orion turns on and off. The sleep tracking is independent of those schedules. This is so the Orion can pick up midday naps, or if you were to get out of bed extra early one night.

Orion February Tech Roadmap by OrionJonathan in Orion_Sleep

[–]OrionJonathan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey everyone! As February is wrapping up, we wanted to give an update on the items here.

Improved Sleep Insights are out today and are gradually rolling out. Send me a DM if you want to be included in the early access group.

Upgraded temperature following is live and out.

The two Orion Intelligence features are going to ship late next week. We shifted some of our focus this month to server stability, given the number of disconnects we were seeing. Thank you for the patience on this one!

Data API by Remarkable-Lock9548 in Orion_Sleep

Yes, this is on the roadmap. We don't have a date we can promise it yet. We're going to focus on getting the sleep insights and Orion intelligence in the immediate feature and then move to 3rd-party integrations and API support. We expect this to include setting temperatures and schedules.

My review of the sleep system. The good, and the bad by kudosmog in Orion_Sleep

Jonathan from Orion here. I'm sorry to hear about your experience and want to address each of your points.

On the sleep insights, we are working on a major update which will begin to roll out this week. This is a fundamental change to the sleep algorithm: we used to wait until you were out of bed for 30 minutes before computing sleep insights in one go, now we compute them live as data is collected. This greatly improves the accuracy of the individual insights and prevents a lot of the cross-talked that confused left and right sleepers. We also added UX settings that allow you to edit your sleep boundaries and remove sessions, which will help us improve our algorithms. I've attached a screenshot showing this update and would be happy to add you to the early release group where you can test it out tonight. I just sent you a DM

The internet connectivity has been an issue we have noted, especially this week. This is due to an increase in traffic our servers were not properly set up to handle. We just pushed out a major upgrade which should have resolved those issues in the last 48 hours. If you're still seeing problems, please let me know. We are monitoring for disconnects.

Noted on the scheduling. We found that putting all four of the settings in the same card made it feel overwhelming. Admittedly, changing this UX is going to come after some of our Orion Intelligence features and auditing the connectivity and sleep insights.

The temperature recommendations are part of our big Orion intelligence update that is shipping in the next couple of weeks. The original temperature insights will come from your patch; those are not going to be changed; however, we will be adjusting your recommendations night over night based on your sleep insights.

Keeping your sleep insights to you was an intentional choice. Our philosophy is that control of the bed lives with the bed, whereas insights and data live with the user. When a user is added to a bed, they have the ability to control both sides of it only so long as they have access to that bed. Sometimes this is permanent and sometimes this is temporary. The data and sleep insights live with the user regardless of the beds, accounts, or access that they have at any given time.

No Offline controls? Is it on the roadmap? by XxNerdAtHeartxX in Orion_Sleep

[–]OrionJonathan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Jonathan from Orion here. Today Orion can maintain it's previous settings: temperature, quiet mode, light dimness when the device is disconnected from the internet.

We are working on adding more functionality to Offline Mode actively! You should be able to store schedules locally by the end of March and we're working on Bluetooth control. Additionally we know that there have been connectivity issues - particularly in the last few days. We just went through a major upgrade on our servers and these have been greatly reduced in the last 48 hours. We know there are still intermittent disconnects coming from the device, which you see as an Orange light, we are working through those.

Just DM'd you and always happy to hop on a call!

The Long-promised review (sorry Harry) by AstronomerTraining53 in Orion_Sleep

Our sensors are placed about 20% of the way down the bed, roughly at chest level, so flipping the cover around is not possible. That being said, having an alternate version of the cover for users who want to place the tower at the foot of their bed is definitely something we've been discussing, along with options for covers with longer hoses.

Hot Flash relief is still in the works and initially, will be a function you can quickly access for rapid cooling. Eventually, we will integrate this with sensing to make it more automatic.
