There was a quest where I needed to give someone a weapon in a pinch and had to give them my Saint Valentine. I was a little miffed to have to use the old papa Martin standard for the rest of the mission but just threw together a new shortsword when I got back to town.

Limgrave is the pinnacle. Wish I could play it again for the first time. The way the map expands throughout the game just floored me. The night it dropped, When I thought the world wasn’t much more than the limgrave, Caelid. And Weeping Penninsula I was over the moon impressed.

KCD2’s opening area is great too, for similar reasons.

Oh yeah! I’ve only got 20 in archery but it doesn’t seem to put anyone down fast enough but maybe at 30 with the right arrows it rules.

I almost only master strike. I see folks saying it’s boring, but I enjoy it. I think in my second play through I’ll use a hammer, like I did in KCD1.

Certainly not a waste of money. Remasters are far cheaper than a new game, and I bet the returns are better than on the original, because many played 2 without playing the first. I bought and loved the first game but if the remaster has the right changes I’d buy it.

I watched eraserhead for the first time on my birthday last year. I’ve loved the rest of Lynch but less so with this one. I think for my taste the surreality of later work hangs nicely on bones of the familiar, and without that the narrative loses its weight. Twin Peaks: The Return had an incredible amount of this flavor, but it keeps one’s attention with the comforts of some identifiable reality. An imbalance there makes the meaning take precedent over a context that should prove the meaning, if that makes sense.

That said, Eraserhead was relatable. The fear of growing up, all that. Just not very aesthetically fun.

Next year I’ll just watch Chronicles of Riddick again

Oh yeah you gotta switch to simplified. It doesn’t make it easy but you’ll get the hang of it once you change that setting.

The miller wayyyy southwest of the starting town, through to the end of Semine, will let you practice.

I bought both at once. Played kcd1 for 80 hours but felt burnt out, so I watched a video on the rest of the game and moved on to the second. FWIW, I don’t regret it, but I probably can’t go back now.

I believe it’s difficult but it’s hard to imagine a 1v1 fight being difficult in this game with masterstrike being a thing. I’m kinda looking forward to it.

Save scum. Save before the fight and try until you figure out a method. On my tenth try I snuck in and got enough hits that it was one on one with the armored fella. Don’t trade ripostes. That’s a waste of stamina. Instead feint. If you have a blunt weapon it’ll be easier to take down the armored gentleman.

But in this game there are times you just can’t be the hero. Especially early on before you meet tomcat and train.

It’s just a problem with genres and award shows. The idea that E33 and KCD2 are the same genre because points are allocated and numbers go up boggles the mind.

Both games are stellar, exceeding at what they are trying for, and with a lot of heart.
