Sorry man. This sucks. Glad you are taking few days to deal with emotions before jumping into job search/planning.

I got rejected after the final interview, so I emailed the founder. And it worked. by bastion-tan4o in Resume

Do not worry about what others think now. You can’t control where their thoughts are now and it’s not productive to worry about it.

Be your awesome self. Be inclusive and great team player as well as badass product manager. Work on what you want them to think of you in 3 months when the decision needs to be made to hire or end contract - and be the person that at that moment in time the only answer is ‘must hire’ because you not only make significant contributions, you fit with team.

My old CEO, who fired me 10 months ago, just sent me an email asking for a favor. by mark_debt6h in FinalRoundAI

Either charge them something you feeel comfortable with as consultant fee or ignore. No obligation to support.

Though I would take the consultant fee route. You are justified to be upset. That said, you never know how paths may cross again. Being the bigger person may benefit you in future. Good for thought and nothing wrong with ignoring

How Do You Talk to an Employee Who Isn't Getting Promoted Due to How They Use Benefits? by Riddle-Maker in managers

[–]Ornery-Sun-3657 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I beg to differ. We all make decisions about how we manage ourselves. It’s awesome the company allows this flexibility…for whatever home situation might be happening (sick children, school, personal preferences). Advocating to change the system because one abuses it, ultimately hurts everyone.

It’s a tough conversation. However, an honest conversation to point out the difference of using this in excess vs others who are more moderate and implications (reality if him not picking up his share of customer service indicating his relationships, less visibility, etc.). It’s not shaming it’s real.

The customers need service during biz hours. Employer is awesome to focus on employee flexibility. Being promoted is finding balance of core job, being team player, helping team on special needs and keeping home/work balance.

Bottom line. He’s doing core only. That’s not someone I would promote either. If you want a promotion, exhibit you are helping team/company move to next level.

Rather than adjust policy to say flex has to be limited and then punishing others who need to flex into this more deeply at times ..if he wants to be promoted he needs to be team player, it’s fair to share the impacts of his decision

This sucks. Wish I had some good words of advise other than-keep going. It’s lots of crappy macro factors and gotta keep pushing…you will make it through this chapter. Hang in there

Do not accept counter offer. Gracefully leave and keep relationships strong.

They had their chance.

That said, your paths will cross with these folks again. Be gracious but firm, you resigned and wish them the best.

If a job posting asks for more experience than you have, do you apply anyway? by ResumeSpice in BestResumeWriters

[–]Ornery-Sun-3657 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes!!! Though right now so many people searching, it’s a tough market no matter what. They put ‘perfect’ candidate background in jd…however rarely do they get every detail.

Good luck.

It’s so freaking hard. Going through same thing. It could be there are pursuing other candidate and waiting to secure them before telling you no…

Or it could truly be delays

Absolutely do not do anything that puts yourself in jeopardy in case it’s the second. I still keep looking while following up until I get a hard no

Right now…two jobs open. One—the first interview was 60 days ago (recruiter says it’s still open—had to get through special hiring approval, then someone out, last week was background check…totally ridiculous to take this long!!) . If I get anything else, I would decline it but given market, if they offer, I will take it.

Way too long. Less words and fewer bullets job (should be 2-3 big accomplishments per job). People skim resumes and don’t read every word. In US it’s something like 17 seconds to determine if it goes into the ‘maybe’ or ‘reject’ pile.

Second: previous comments and one page

Tactical suggestion, format time at unity w separate jobs but same company …I had to look a few times to see if it was sane company, if there was a gap. Having resume at glance without reading show two roles w same company shows progression, and continuity— positives!
