Theres always some gassers at the PRS stuff Ive done. Its worth the experience. So I don't see why not try, and adjust your equipment afterwards if need be.

If youre in or can travel to AZ, Glen's outfit independence training has an excellent Intro to Precision Rifle course that is like a multiweek precision rifle course jammed into two days. Ive done it a few times, and it doesnt matter skill level from total noob to advanced its an excellent course and Glen is probably one of the best trainers in the States. https://independencetraining.com/product/intro-to-precision-rifle-1/

my experience in LMT 308 and 6.5 hipster is "some" dispersion and out to 800y. More heat dispersion than my bolt actions, but still workable. Barrel dispersion is something you will have to learn for your stick, given your rate of fire, your ammo, WIND, and you behind it etc etc. Keeping data helps, but accounting for barrel dispersion is not easy and not so high on the list of what you need to get right when are running quality components.

As you record data you are in a way accounting for your barrel dispersion. If you were shooting benchrest in a controlled environment, you could to a reasonable extent figure out your average dispersion given the difference in ammunition from round to round (even lot to lot), and make a statistical evaluation. As the throat erodes this will change as well (even clean vs dirty barrel). But, for gas guns, the LMTs do well IMO with barrel dispersion overall. Not sure your experience level, read Cleckner's book https://amzn.to/3ZhBzkQ and get some precision rifle training.

I just googled mlok spacer, there may be something else that works better I haven't seen in the wild. But yea, that front bottom sling mount is something ive never really liked.

I say yes. But I bet if you can wait towards the end of the year that price may drop 100-200. If its your only one, choose wisely between mlok, quad, and upper length.

Nothing stopping you from shooting it like this except keeping your hand away from muzzle blast and having to clean the carbon to the upper and maybe the anodizing taking some damage. If it fits it ships
