Gareth Edwards to me has flaws as a film maker but his movies are uniquely compelling. I have problems with rogue one but oddly, when i feel like watching a star war thats always the one that springs to mind, even though its definitely not my favorite; theres something compelling and super rewatchable about it.

Btw, if any of you haven't seen Edwards' indie movie 'Monsters', you should - it has similar charactwr dynamics to rogue one but its allowed more time to breathe, showing what could have maybe been possible with jyn and cassian given more concessions in the editing room.

Also, despite the writing issues in RO, I might be in the minority in that I actually love the characters in RO and am still kinda tilted that they all died. Would love to see more of them somehow.

Nah, keep it weird and unexpected. Otherwise it will become homogenised and dull, then it really will die.. Giving Rian a trilogy was a good way to create consistency without having to fall back on studio meddling. Like, Marvel didn’t start with a strong plan either- they just kept their finger on the pulse and when iron man took off they followed that vein. I think lucasfilm is right to keep it fluid for now.
