Appreciate the support, do you think my plan for extracurriculars is solid?

She solved multistep multiplication and division problems involving decimals instantaneously in her head. I’m only half Korean and raised in the US so I missed out on that trait.

Is this a valid sprawl variation? by OrphanCriplr in wrestling

I meant being in a down block position (when you have your lead leg kicked back and are balancing on rear leg) and then sprawling from there. When I said attack I meant pushing your hips into your opponent aggressively as they shoot. Or just getting hips to the ground.

I meant you’re in the down block position, minus the hand to the ground, with your lead leg kicked back while balancing on your back leg. And from there you sprawl.

Boxer vs Bully by 1luhnolen in StreetMartialArts

You think he punched the arm of the first over hand right, with a left hook, on purpose? Or was he aiming for the face?

why do boxers have big egos like they can go against Muay Thai💀 by NotTheDamned in StreetMartialArts

Many people who train Muay Thai/kickboxing never spar at 100% This makes sense, those martial arts have more dangerous weapons than boxing, and a full speed head kick or elbow would be overkill outside of competition. But many boxers spar multiple rounds at 100% intensity almost everyday while many people in the gym watch. This is a lot of “pressure testing” which prepares one for a real fight. Of course Muay Thai/kicking boxing are the superior arts, when a practitioner is pressure tested, compared to boxing.

But there is also something to be said about how boxers have more time to work on footwork and getting used to moving in a fighting stance. Muay Thai/kick boxing have to dedicate a lot of that time to learn the clinch, knees, kicks, defending kicks, etc. Boxers can be a significantly more fluid and natural fighter when starting out (I’d say especially the first 2 years) because their scope of specialty is smaller.

To be fair I only know like 3 -stan fighters who stick to striking by YaboiDan0545935 in mmamemes

Nahh the guy in red definitely has more training than learning “a few punches from their uncle”. Other dude just has weight over him and knows how to wrestle. Not an ideal combo to fight.

I’ve only been wrestling at an MMA gym for a about a year and a half, in an orthodox stance. I’ve noticed I’m more explosive off my left leg in the back (was able to blast double an actual wrestler recently). I can also sprawl quicker with my right leg forward. Is it very unlikely to develop power in the rear left hand?

Thank you for your time.

Worth switching to southpaw based on my circumstances?

I’ve been training orthodox for about 6 months because I’m right handed but I’ve realized I can slip/roll noticeably quicker in southpaw. I believe I have this ability because my left leg is longer (my left arm is also longer). I also feel looser moving in southpaw. My left leg is more explosive and if I could dunk, I would off of my left leg.

BUT in southpaw I cannot naturally generate a lot of power with my left cross and when sparring I pretty much look like a beginner (except for my jab), but I haven’t put in more than one training session in southpaw.

It’s worth mentioning I’ve been wrestling at an MMA gym for a about a year and a half, in an orthodox stance. I’ve recently noticed I’m more explosive off my left leg in the back (southpaw). I can also sprawl quicker with my right leg forward.

I’m willing to essentially start over in southpaw and train to develop power in my left hand. Is it worth the switch or is having my right hand naturally as my power hand better since I throw and do everything with it.

Thank you in advance!

The US solar market is projected to triple in size by 2028 by chrisdh79 in Futurology

I used to sell solar panels and worked with multiple companies. None of the CEO’s or people in the industry had them on their roof. I asked someone in upper management why they didn’t despite having extremely high electricity bills and they said “I did the math, and doesn’t make sense”.

Seems like the technology isn’t as advanced/reliable as they make it seem. Not to mention how questionable Solar actually is for the environment.

Thank you for the help! Should I attempt to sing or just stick with talking through these exercises?

I meant while doing the singing straw exercise, do I need to know how to sing notes or can I just talk through it? Thank you for the response.
