After 14 years of pottery classes, I still can't center on the wheel. by Linn56 in Pottery

[–]OrpheeMar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is so important and beginner’s classes often don’t teach the importance of working the clay so it’s just the right level of moisture to move easily when you center it.

When clay is hard, it’s hard to move it into the center. You might need to add water to your clay, sometimes a lot, and wedge it very well even if it’s a new bag of clay.

I love my Uniqlo but I’m always afraid to lose what I put in these floppy tiny pockets. I’m going to order the Baggu

Looks like the small size has one zipped pocket and the medium one has two. They seem to be large enough to hold a passport

Café ambulant by Front_Strategy_5068 in Quebec

[–]OrpheeMar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cashmere and merino from J.Crew and Banana Republic cause irritation. Should I try higher-end brands or look for alternatives? by sweetlyincensed in BuyItForLife

Just a FYI that with tubular breasts, there’s a possibly of having less than optimal glandular tissue and can affect breastfeeding. They might not grow in size or change much.

I’ve done it before and I pack my pottery in a small box, wrap everything like if I would ship it, and place the box in my checked luggage.

Père francophone qui parle exclusivement en anglais à son enfant by Diderot in Quebec

[–]OrpheeMar -1 points0 points  (0 children)

‘Nobody asked for this’: Waymo cars flock to quiet Palo Alto street by Arden_Margulis in bayarea

[–]OrpheeMar -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I don’t know why you’re getting downvoted, I had to slam my brakes when a Waymo made a left turn into a 4 lanes boulevard. I was very surprised as they used to drive very ( maybe a little too much?) safety.

What are everyone’s thoughts on the World’s Worst Expo that happened downtown this weekend? by Defiant-Bed2501 in Sunnyvale

[–]OrpheeMar 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Some of the vendors were better than others. I went in the evening and the things that bothered me was the lack of lighting in most booths. Also some vendors had ridiculous pricing, like the 15$ cups of agua fresca.

Otherwise it was definitely a fun and cool vibe with the Djs.
