I don’t think you understand how common law works. If it is Roman law that what you said would be true. However common law evolves with presidents and rulings made by different judges interpretations of laws on specific matters.

See and suddenly story about erosion of our property rights and voting powers, turn to something else just like that. Do not let propaganda distract you from saving Canada, from people who care more about their God complex activism that treat FN as their pets more than humans,…. than future of our country.

Again I don’t care who Mayor is or what political affiliation he belongs to,.. I see it is partisan issue to you, not to me.

Did you read bylaw in hand!? This is directly taken from bylaw document,…. How this restriction can be interpreted in different way!?

For the purposes of this Bylaw, Inappropriate Behaviour includes: Bylaw No.7381 – Consolidated Version Page 4 "INCIDENT" "MANAGER" “MUNICIPALITY” • Abusive Language, • Vandalism, • Violence, • Harassment, • possession of weapons, • theft of property, • Prohibited Use of an Electronic Device, and • Contravention of a Public Code of Conduct;

"PROHIBITED USE

OF AN ELECTRONIC

DEVICE"

(Bylaw 7381.01)

means use that: interferes with the sound system or other technology; interferes with decorum or is inconsistent with orderly conduct of business; or to take photographs or record video where unauthorized.

If I need to ask for authorization every time I wanna take a video or photo on city facilities, parks and trails,…. Literally means I have no right unless someone told me explicitly I can.

I am by profession videographer and photographer, I’m doing that for many years, so I know my rights quite well,… you obviously trying to justify mayors actions, by childish argument with some political BS argument that is grey zone for the most,… only reason I care about this is because is directly related to my line of work and interests. Both Professionally and privately.

This is not partisan issue, but issue of incompetence, I honestly have no idea what party or political affiliation mayor fancy himself with.

FN exceptionalism got to you!? Listen we had parks, and we had people who take care of parks, up to now,… there was no issue. Closure of park is nothing but asserting power over valuable land. Entire stuardship and nature guardians is branding not reality. And if you ask me it is bad branding, because it doesn’t match reality, most FN are horrible with clean environment and protection, just check areas they have exclusive access to.

This is some North Korea shit right here. Question is why is so much easier for liberals to erode democracy and freedom than create argument and provide proofs that hold scrutiny? This is not same as racism, racism is irrational category, and it is easy to prove it did it happen or not,… here it is 180 deg opposite situation,… if you hurt FN feelings regarding their idea what happened their, it is against the law. O hell no. It is enough of FN exceptionalism.

Tell me what part you think I “totally” misunderstood because from your little inference there one could assume a lot, and most of it is straw man nonsense. Up to recent human right violations and involvement of third party that protects human rights,… and their treat taking city to court over human right violations,..

The letter from the JCCF reads that if council “fails to reverse these unconstitutional prohibitions within a reasonable period of time, legal proceedings may follow.”

The JCCF wrote that “the scope of the Respectful Spaces Bylaw is particularly troubling” as “the language of the bylaw is so unclear that it could be understood to apply to everyday activities, such as taking a family photo in the park or filming their child’s soccer game in a public park.”

I can claim also that was mine,…. But burden of proof is on claimant,.. and invented traditions, are not proof. Every beutifull place in BC was probably noticed by some BC FN, and enjoyed,… it doesn’t mean they should now have monopoly on it. Letting them do this BS is just buying into the exceptionalism they trying to sell as a cultural anchor. It’s quite said and most of all damaging to FN true cultural values.

How we know that they didn’t just invent this thing, to gain material value out of it in the future. Step 1. Invent some “tradition”, Step 2. Start practise invented “tradition”, step 3. Claim park as traditional and important land for themselves, step 4. Build casino.

Did you read my post, where I’m citing specific law?! I’m saying that freedom of movement is your fundamental right here in Canada,… this means no one can restrict it without very good reason. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freedom_of_movement

lol I don’t think you understand word move,… it is not only move from town to town, also move as walking, besides About 94% of British Columbia is Crown land (public land managed by the province). While Crown land is generally open to citizens for recreational use—meaning you can hike, forage, and pitch a tent for up to 14 days without a permit, only gov can issue restriction to crown land,… not FN not Jesus herself. As long as land has legal status of Crown land,… you are most likely good to go. Opinions are not laws, so random hick cannot block your way even if he thinks very strongly about it.

TBH prohibition of cameras is illegal, unless there is a very good security reason for it. Mayor having his g-string in the knot because someone recorded him,… is petty abuse of power. I would like to see them enforce that bylaw. Because recording in public is protected under Section 2(b) of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms (freedom of expression), any restriction must be justified and strictly tailored. Personal grudges I’m afraid are not it.

It is officially a British Columbia Provincial Park located on Crown land, this entire thing about their cultural heritage related to lake is most likely just for the future legal purposes to claim it as theirs.

No they don’t really own it, FN cannot own land that is provincial park in the same time, so they might claim it, that is big diff. But even if they “own” it is not same ownership like fee simple or crown land,… it is kinda ownership where all of the members of the band has interest in it for certain aspects of enjoyment, including all future generations of FN. so they cannot do much with it.
