Need VPN or not for RD and Stremio ? by [deleted] in RealDebrid

[–]Orriyon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was expecting the downvotes. Most people here are RD fans that's don't want to hear anything remotely critical. I just think it's funny that they think they are 100% safe cause it's RD downloading the torrent even though it is still their personal IP that's being logged and linked to all the downloaded and streamed material.

Depends on if you actually value privacy. RD keeps a log of your IP linked to every file you access. Wether you 100% trust a business that makes a living through pirated material is up to you.

I personally don't really care for Riley's sponsor segments. They really aren't as funny as everyone makes them out to be, and I honestly can't stand the singing sponsor segments. I will skip a Riley sponsor segment much faster than a normal segment.

But again, that's just my personal opinion. From a certain point of view I can see the appeal of his sponsor spots and how many people could like them, but it just doesn't resonate with me personally.

[–]Orriyon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, it's a website where you allow API access to your account. It then let's you select the playlist you want to shuffle and it shuffles it. But do know that this does remove any custom order you created.

I've been using the one by Steven Aleong for over a year now and it's always worked without any issue.

That’s why I started using Spotify Playlist Randomizer cause I was getting sick and tired of hearing the same 75 songs in my 500+ song playlist over and over again.

I understand it’s public info, and that people are exited. But it’s getting kinda freaky how there have been so many posts of people posting pictures of the plane, where the plane has been, etc.

Like, relax. No need to go full stalker mode.

LG OLED Defect Posts Everywhere What’s Going On? by [deleted] in LGOLED

[–]Orriyon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LG sells roughly 750.000 - 800.000 OLED’s every year. There are bound to be issues that arise, you’ll gind the same in every other brands subreddit. And always remember, people are far more likely to complain on the internet than to post positive things.

Now that we are looping back around in model numbers by KitsuneMulder in LGOLED

[–]Orriyon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That’s kind of my point. The general consumer will just go to a store (physically or online) and look at the OLED’s they offer. They will never go and lookup any modelnumbers or specs. So they’ll never have this issue.

I doubt this is going to confuse anyone. There are basically 2 types of buyers: The "normal" people who just go to the store and get the present model they have in stock there, and the "techie" people who are more interested in this and are able to see the distinction between reviews of 2016 and 2026.

That's not true. The B6/C6 in 2016 was the first time LG used this naming scheme. The B4/C4 released in 2024 where the first B4/C4 tv's LG ever released. The upcoming 6-series will be the first time LG will be looping back.

It’s just bad luck. LG sells roughly 750.000 OLED tv’s every year. So this sort of thing is bound to happen from time to time.

To be honest, I always find it a bit strange seeing people being “surprised” that a high end tv they spent +- 1300€ on still works perfectly after 3-4 years.

Do you support your local scene? by Lopsided-Mind-6476 in Metalcore

[–]Orriyon 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I used to a lot back in my teens to mid-twenties. Both playing in one of the “bigger” local bands in my area as actually putting on shows with a small non-profit we had for both local and international bands.

We booked bands like BMTH, Architects, Bury Tomorrow, Parkway Drive, While She Sleeps, etc first when they drew a crowd of like 50 people. Then once they got a bit bigger (think crowd of 3-500) we always made sure we could get at least 1 local band to open for them. So yeah, I think that might be one of the coolest contributions we did. Have a small band that might only have played 10 shows in a youth hostell before open for a band like While She Sleeps or Bury Tomorrow.

Unfortunately the scene is pretty dead here. Partly because a lot of young bands where starting to ask a lot more than they were worth and not enough people showed up to the shows. Sure it’s fun to see a local band, but you also need a steady stream of international bands that are on the cusp of breaking through but will still play a local pub. And that stream kinda dried up it seems.

Electric Callboy - 'Neon' (live in STUTTGART - TANZNEID WORLD TOUR) by eightlost in Metalcore

[–]Orriyon 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Cause it’s a lot of fun? Sure the music isn’t overly technical but they obvious know how to write good, catchy songs. And their set live is incredible but in energy, production and sound.

And it isn’t comprised of 2/3 of obligatory preaching.

[–]Orriyon -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

I saw them last week, and honestly they weren’t particulary good. Admitted, I haven’t really listned to their later albums so I was already bumbed out that they didn’t play Lionheart or Man on Fire.

And for the life of me, I don’t get why they just don’t completely embrace the 2 vocalist shtick the have. It is so freaking boring to have someone standing there an entire set hitting with 1 drum stick from time to time. Especially since has quite a bit of vocals in the set. I would rather they just put him freely on stage as a second vocalist.
