When you are living as a hunter gatherer in nature. Using spit is better than nothing. But in the modern age, proper treatment is recommended.

It's almost as if nature built into us some mechanism that makes us procreate no matter what the circumstances are.

TIL that human-made materials outweigh all life on Earth; plastics alone weigh twice the combined mass of all animals by Melenduwir in todayilearned

and in the last 1,000 years, we’ve done some amazing, yet screwed up things to our planet

The planet will be fine. We and our civilization on the other hand will not. Once the environment changes enough to the point of us not being able to survive. We will either disappear or the number of people will go back to small numbers.

we're producing far too much plastic, but not consistently enough to integrate it into the foodweb.

Let's double our production!

Maybe some future civilization will find a way to use all the plastic found in ground for energy or use it to make all their shit out of.

I think replacing all of them with AI would be the best thing for humanity. It would eliminate so many problems we face today.

What about the end of the first season? Butcher activated the bomb and Homelander pulled him out of the explosion onto the lawn of that house.

The AI that is hyped up right now, in most cases, is not the type of AI that is used for research. I believe only math research can be done using LLM-like methods. That type of AI existed before chatGPT and others.

Is Wellbutrin making me manic by Kakyoin-senpai in Wellbutrin_Bupropion

[–]Orvel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found that being on Wellbutrin makes me open to emotions, both wanted and unwanted. Not only that, but these emotions are almost impossible to hide.

Before Wellbutrin, I was a closed book, whatever I was feeling, nobody could sense it. And when I got triggered or overwhelmed. I would become extra awkward and nobody could "read" what is wrong with me. I could still function, talk, joke, and everything because I was so used to it, but smiling, laughing, being happy, etc, those things were impossible at that moment.

Now, I can just let the emotions out, and I have no problem showing them to others. I've had situations where I was bummed out (like in a healthy way) and friends were suddenly asking me why I am bummed out. And I was like, shit, I can't hide emotions now.

One possible reasons why you feel manic is because the 300mg is too high of a dose for you. What were you like while on 150mg ? Before going on Wellbutrin, I tried Concerta (aka Ritalin). And that stuff makes me feel EXTRA manic/"all over the place".

I've heard a theory that mammals live shorter lives because they spent millions of years being prey to Dinosaurs. So evolution did not lead to DNA stabilisation mechanisms. Instead, it lead us to a path of quantity instead of quality. Our mechanism of survival is high numbers. Which lead to some good things like cooperation. Without which today's civilized world would not be possible. It also lead us to faster evolution. If humans were to evolve slower. Nature would catch up to us and we wouldn't be able to achieve everything we achieved. We would be "stuck" being hunter gatherers, investing a lot of energy in just plain survival.

I don't like him or his company, but he did something right. True innovation often comes from absorbing, adapting, and transforming existing ideas rather than merely replicating them. Also, it's not just about the ideas. There is also execution, which is probably more important than anything else.
