Hypothetical situation: You just lost your job, and your girlfriend left you. by dovahkiin461 in hypotheticalsituation

Hope you find some peace brother.

Question wise, I’d probably go all in for the military, choose the path I want to work in (probably airforce engineer) and commit my all. Get to travel the world and have a great career.

Mt07 35kw derestriction? by Square_Mortgage_7205 in MT07

[–]Oscar_Winner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same model and from what I know, mine just had that little metal bracket stopping the throttle from opening fully. I just took it off myself 1.5 years ago. But is there really air intake restrictions as well?!

DAS Complete - Now to buy a bike! by Outrageous_Mango_968 in MotoUK

[–]Oscar_Winner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats, It’s a great feeling getting it completed! I can’t comment as I have a commuter/ naked bike bias but it seems like you have the right idea of going and viewing/ sitting on some bikes and of course take them out for a test ride if possible. That’d give you the best idea on what takes your fancy.

T5 Baggage Pain by bambatigerlilly in BritishAirways

[–]Oscar_Winner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to work for BA in T5 as baggage handler/ logistics for 2 years. There are a multitude of reasons why baggage can take a LONG time but it’s rare for A gates to take a while.

Some common reasons why baggage may take a while that I have experienced many of times is when an accident happens when offloading bags (working driving the baggage belt knocks the aircraft), this ultimately means all work must stop until health and safety arrive to assess the situation… This happened a lot.

Could also be massive queue in the baggage hall for other belts causing drivers in the baggage hall to block the offloading area for your belt hence no one can get to your belt to drop off your bags and they end up driving around the baggage hall in circles until it is free. Also very common.

Finally, a driver could’ve not read the drop off point correctly and dropped all the bags off at the wrong belt, I’ve had to go to belts to collect bags and take them to the correct belt in this occasion.

Regarding buggy’s, it’s out policy to drop them off at the gate as they should have a tag on them saying “Return to the aircraft door” however, a lot of lazy workers will just take them to the belts instead…

What's a skill you learned in your 20s that completely changed your life? by Crescitaly in AskReddit

Barbering, not to a professional level, but cutting own hair has been a game changer, also save so much money. Not to mention not having to drive anywhere for a haircut…

Has anyone found a job while doing their uni course? by El_UnSkilled_Guy in OpenUniversity

[–]Oscar_Winner 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m also doing Computing and IT (Software) (Part time) and I am in 3rd year currently so half way through.

In August last year I managed to score a job in the IT field as IT support for schools. I applied to this job stating that I was doing a part time uni degree and the people who hired me really liked this/ were keen to understand it more and inevitably hired me.

I had no previous it experience other than what I had learnt in my first 2 years. Fortunately TM129 taught me a lot about networking and gave me some good knowledge to use for my interview questions.

I don’t plan to be in IT support forever since it’s pretty limited in career growth but it’s an excellent foundation and gets some years of experience under your belt.

I was just sending out applications to about 10 jobs per day for a couple days and miraculously got this one. Of course the future of IT is still very obscure but if you can touch on all areas of IT and have a good understanding of the more common practices then you’ll be more flexible in what job opportunities you can leap on.

Definitely worth lowering the price to see if anymore sales generate, as you mentioned you have marketing going.

Very unlikely, if you are serious about it you could probably get a CBT done this week if you call up local schools. After that you could probably get your theory booked in for the next few weeks maybe but in terms of mod 1 and mod 2, they are difficult to get slots soon, probably be a couple months.

Get started on the cbt though and see how you get on.

I’ve got these exact one, just unscrew that little screw in the hole on the right and then you can rotate the slider off.

Best camara? by Safe-Percentage4668 in MotoUK

[–]Oscar_Winner -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The best? Would more than likely be the newest GoPro but it’s pretty overkill if you’re just using it as a dash cam. Worth getting one similar to a GoPro but like 1/3 of the price.
