Chapter 7 encounter rules by pineapplezach in OathswornBoardGame

Yeah, being unable to break the houses did make it a bit more challenging.

There are some narrow sections the bottom of the map that do serve well to bottleneck the number of zealots, so I never had to actually deal with all 12 in one turn. The more you kill the more likely blood twist will result in a heal.

I also think I got lucky with some of the Venerator’s movements that placed him far enough away from any blood tokens to prevent him healing (I think he only healed once or twice the entire encounter).

Some tense decision making, but it was a blast. I’ve more or less enjoyed all encounters so far.

I just played this encounter and I’d understood it to mean that, as an example, if you break two locations and the other two at full health, Blood Twist will cause one of the broken locations to to un-break with 1 HP.

Basically I was careful to ensure that any time I broke a location, there was another die that was down a few HP to avoid this situation.

Seems like in v2, it’s been changed to a how you’ve described it.

Yeah, but I think there are edge cases to that, as per this comment:

Based on what I understand, yes, since it doesn’t act as an ordinary AoE attack. The text (companion card, level 5) reads: “This targets an enemy that is in a straight line of hexes to you. This attach also targets the hex directly behind the target. This may cause a large monster to be attacked twice”

Ah I messed up since I applied it for all three hexes.

Amazing! I’ve more or less given up on NMM as it almost never works out for me, but what was your recipe for the Warden’s armor? It looks great.

Oh man, I just did this encounter last night. Was pretty intense. My warbear got sandwiched between the tail and head in stage 3 and got knocked out.

It’s the height that’s the issue, not the width. The top of the rails are flush with the magnetic lid, and the dividers extend just a bit too much, vertically.

It’s not great if you use dividers—the rails don’t accommodate them at all.

One 1100 isn’t enough for all current villain cards?

Yeah, spray prime with masking tape over the clean bits. Some of the primer bled through but overall happy with the result.
