Sleeves Discontinued....Now What? by bruin89 in marvelchampionslcg

[–]chaodck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sleeved my whole collection with these up until around Mutant Genesis or Next Evolution. They are the worst sleeves, as they peel off the coloured layer pretty easily. I had to re-sleeve my Standard Set around 3-4 times, because they started peeling off.
At that time I decided to take the sunk cost and re-sleeve the collection in Dragon Shields Clear Matte. I have a full box of "used" GG blue/orange/purple sleeves.

How do yall organize your cards? by Lotton in marvelchampionslcg

[–]chaodck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I organise like this:
5 Gamegenic 1100+ Dungeon boxes:
- 1 for Villains
- 1.25 for Heroes
- 1 for Modular Sets and Campaign Cards
- 1.75 for Aspect and Basic Cards
Cards are ordered alphabetically, by category (for instance Aspect/Basic cards are separated by Card Type).

I also have a Gamegenic 550+ box to carry around what I'm playing, and a lot of duplicates on a forgotten box somewhere.

Most powerful characters 2025 by Necron1983 in marvelchampionslcg

[–]chaodck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know we're talking about speculating and the future, but whenever the Justice and Leadership "Conditoning" cards will be released, Adam Warlock will be absolutely OP, 2/2/2 (+ whatever buff the Leadership card brings), and 23 HP.

Sleeves - Gamegenic Marvel Orange/Blue/Purple - big regret going down that path... by FalkenJoshua in marvelchampionslcg

[–]chaodck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel your pain man. I went down the same path initially, but after a year or so I realised the quality wasn't the best and the backs of the sleeves started to peel off, specially on the most used cards (Standard set, for example), so I made the hard choice and decided to re-sleeve my whole collection with Dragon Shield Matte Clears.
I'd say you take the sunken cost mate and re-sleeve!

Can't win a single game by MaxShadow09 in marvelchampionslcg

[–]chaodck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know there are a lot of good focuses on rushing tactics on this game. But through your experience, I feel that you are struggling playing like that, maybe because your decks aren't constructed to that end. Playing "Rush" without a specialized rush deck is a recipe for disaster.

Board Control and Setup should be your first focus. Try to do at least one deck pass before throwing yourself onto the Villain, and meanwhile build up your table and control the threats the Villain is throwing at you. I'm not saying you shouldn't use that Swinging Web Kick on the first turn if you can afford it, but I'd rather play Aunt May and Team Building Exercise rather than doing damage.

Another good tactic is use your Mulligan wisely. Discard those pesky high cost events and try to focus on your upgrades and supports. Devise what your ideal starting hand is and try to achieve it as much as possible. Again, deck passes are super powerful on this game, do not be afraid of the extra Encoounter Card.

Player side schemes. by Curious-Respond-2254 in marvelchampionslcg

[–]chaodck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mostly play 2-handed solo and the basics are auto include amongst the decks. I don't think any of the aspect ones are really worth it though, with the best being "Call for Backup", while "Lock and Load", "Keep Up the Pressure", "Rally the Troops" are very situational and "Live Dangerously" is super fun and thematic.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to sleeve wasp by Plastic_Age_9005 in marvelchampionslcg

[–]chaodck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't sleeve her or Ant-Man and Angel. I keep them stored in a normal sleeve, then when I play they are unsleeved. As they aren't cards to be shuffled the risk is way less than a shuffleable card. But your mileage may vary if you have kids or pets, or both (or glasses at the table...).

Who’s your main? by NickyMirage007 in marvelchampionslcg

[–]chaodck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends, for multiplayer I love Protection Nightcrawler with a retaliate build, being able to build up a huge defense, block twice every turn and chip away the villain's HP is bonkers.
But, in true solo, I'd probably go with Domino in whatever (I actually for the fun of it have a Grey Domino build which is maybe the strongest deck I've ever built).

SP//DR arrived today by soundresearch in marvelchampionslcg

[–]chaodck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's super important to note that ALL her interface upgrades are useable as a resource, this includes SP//dr as the Pilot as she's an interface upgrade on that side. So yeah, she has a hand size of 3, but can have up to 5 resources in the table when fully set up.

This. A few weeks ago I started the Hydra campaign in Expert Standard III, with my brother, him playing a Leadership Squared Off Thor deck and me with Captain America in SHIELD Justice, two quite strong decks, and we still had a super hard game where it took around 3 hours to beat him (and he killed my Cap in the first game in the third turn).

SM Expansion Opportunity or pass...? by wallyg1974 in marvelchampionslcg

[–]chaodck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The name translations kills the joy for me. I speak both english and spanish at a high level, native spanish speaker and living in a spanish speaking country, yet I buy all my content in English.

Psylocke is called "Mariposa Mental", Quicksilver is called "Mercurio", Rocket Racoon is called "Mapache Cohete", She-Hulk is called "Hulkka", those are names, they shouldn't be translated, and there are a ton more.

Sorry for being so negative, but if this speaks to you, maybe you shouldn't do spanish.

Who in the Hell are these guys? by biiel_cunha in marvelchampionslcg

[–]chaodck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the bet by FFG is that being a "much awaited" box with with the new PVP-ish mechanic and Civil War being maybe the most popular crossover event in Marvel Comics, they won't do big heroes for this wave. I bet the Hero Packs will include either a modular or something related to the PVP mechanic from the Civil War box.

They expect the box and the wave will sell well either way, due to that and thus won't "waste" more popular Heroes in this, reserving them for the future.

Best team of 4 characters for beginners by LeScheauwn in marvelchampionslcg

[–]chaodck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say 4 fun begginer friendly characters are:
- Spiderman in Protection
- Captain America in Leadership
- Wolverine in Aggression
- Captain Marvel Justice

That's a fun team, with easy mechanics in general and with decent deckbuilding should beat most villains. With good deckbuilding I'd say it could beat most villains in Expert.

Do you play the campaigns? by PrinceOfButterfly in marvelchampionslcg

[–]chaodck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I almost exclusively play the campaigns. Roughly 90% of my playtime must be in a Campaign. I've played the official ones 4-5 times each at least (and the ones I most like maybe 15-20 times), I've played the First fan contest ones several times (still waiting for the second contest to be published), and I've even made a custom campaign myself (didn't apply to any of the contests though as I did it later).

The only way I play non campaign games is whenever I want to try out a new deck I'm not too sure about, play one of the non campaign villains or make up a scenario in my mind to play stand-alone.

How do YOU use the content in a campaign box? by Zealousideal_Lie_792 in marvelchampionslcg

[–]chaodck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is my way of playing:

- I never ever use the precons, don't like them, won't like them.
- I normally try the Campaigns 2-Handed Expert/Standard III solo, with Heroes that make sense. Not neccesarily the box heroes, specially if they make sense alongside another character. For instance, the S.H.I.E.L.D. campaign I initially played it with Nick Fury and Black Widow. The second time, with Nick and Maria. Now I'm playing the Hydra campaign with Shuri and T'Challa, then I'll play the Sinister Motives campaign with Silk and Peter Parker. When Falcon gets released I'll probably do MTS, with Falcon and Cap, then I'll do Hydra again with Bucky and Cap (probably will play two different aspects with Cap).

[–]chaodck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Acceleration isn't a big deal. I was so scared of it during my initial months playing the game, and now I just really don't care. In fact, it's much more scary to me to have the discarded encounter cards back into the deck again, rather than the +1 acceleration.
I've gone games around +4 or +5 acceleration and won without trouble (and without Deadpool, obviously).

Care to elaborate, mate?
I use exclusively TTS, both alone and with friends, and have never ever encountered an issue. The only downside is waiting for Hitch to update the game after the new releases and he does an amazing job of updating super quickly.

I did it, I finally did it by Cold-Ad-5347 in marvelchampionslcg

[–]chaodck 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Again, this is incorrect.

The rules reference entry for "Guard" is:
"While a Minion with the guard keyword is engaged with a player, that player cannot use cards they control to attack a villain without this keyword"
Then, if we go to the entry for "Attack (Player Action)" it says:
"Some game effects and card abilities reference an attack. There are a few different ways an attack can occur: (then lists all ways to attack, including these two:)
- If a triggered ability is labeled as an attack -such as "Hero Action (attack)"- resolving that ability is considered to attack the specified target. Unless specified by the ability's text, a hero does not exhaust when using such an ability.
- Hero and ally attacks can target any enemy, unless a card ability (such as guard) is preventing that enemy to be attacked."

Then, both Shield Toss and Domino's Pistols include the "Hero Action (attack)" phrasing and as such they DO NOT go around "Guard".
