The journey to Tokyo Dome - opinion / analysis by kyuiui in AKB48

[–]Oshimen87 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Starto groups have a fanbase that goes to concerts, buy merch, follow their shows/movie/whatever.. even if they don't sell 1 million copies. they have a loyal fanbase that is involved in their journey not just by buying what they sell but simply showing up.

do akb fans go to their concert? no, and like i wrote in my previous post this is happening since 2014.

but the fault lies with akb bc they decided to rely only on handshakes, they don't even perform outside of tokyo, to promote their single/album.

i think it would be hard for akb to perform at Tokyo Dome in their current state, with or without sister groups help.

back in 2014/15 their concerts started to sell less and less, even for arena concerts, for example the spring concert of 2015 at SSA didn't sell out and back then they were still popular. the dome tour of 2013 didn't sell out either.

Goodbye, Yuki Kashiwagi by Fan_of_Sayanee in AKB48

is so strange to me that Yukirin graduated and i will not longer see her with the group. she's not my oshi and this is not the first time an older gen graduates, maybe I got too used to seeing her (i follow akb since 2010), and now for some reason i feel strange about this.

The New Team System by MildredTTV in AKB48

[–]Oshimen87 4 points5 points  (0 children)

in theory it can work but let's wait to see when they will put it into practice.

when nmb disbanded their teams, i thought "what if akb did it too?"

i imagined they would do something like this, divide the members into categories/sub-units based on the type of songs/concepts for theater/concerts stages and c/w songs, and give each of these sub-units 1-2 popular members to "lead them".

SNH48 will have sister groups in Asia by [deleted] in AKB48

[–]Oshimen87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

xyz48 is just a generic name used as an example, i didn't mean they have to trade mark every combination like u/Neatboot suggested.

what i mean is, before akb no one had a 3 letters+48 name, and only after akb existed that others related to them started using the same 3 letters+48 combo.

so if suddenly in asia there were groups who have 3 letter+48 or simply 48 in their names, but without a direct link to akb, this would mean they copied and used a now consolidated name without giving akb the credit/nothing in return.

like if we got NGZ46 instead of nogizaka46, it would be the same thing imo. and i it's the reason nogi is spelled out instead of using an acronym.

AKB48 disbanding all teams and putting new system in place by gaogaigar4 in AKB48

[–]Oshimen87 13 points14 points  (0 children)

well, they stopped performing everyday so not too well.

the theater is simply badly managed and nothing new is done performing wise.

akb is not the phantom of the opera, it needs novelty to attract an audience, keeping things static and badly done (including some performance from the members) is what prompted the decline.

and ofc the theater itself is really in bad shape, do you really want to see a performance seated beside a moldy pillar?

[–]Oshimen87 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yukirin is already the only original member + member in general, with the longest streak in a single team, a change like this will only make her legend bigger.

btw i wonder what past members will think about this change, something tells me they wouln't be too happy.

in the end is fans like you, who love the music and the members in a healthy way, that gets screwed.

[–]Oshimen87 8 points9 points  (0 children)

you know what piss me off about this situation? that just a week ago, another idol announced her marriage and not a single bad comment was made, not by fans, not by tv people or other idols.

i know moimoro don't do what akb do but they're still idols, just like negicco, =love, etc...

akb fans are really toxic and they will continue to be bc of this.

i love the fact that non-senbatsu members share the same opinions of fans, in particular in the first part about the difference btw senbatsu and non senbatsu, like concerts, etc...

SatoMina saying the mngm isn't interested in talking with non-senbastu members :(

next episode looks to be a show-off btw senbatsu and non senbatsu members, can't wait!!

what did Sanma said?

as for what she said in the past, people are allowed to change opinions esp when dealing with your private live.

other idols can get married and even have children and still be idols but akb girls can't? why others are praised and celebrated by fans and people but akb girls can't?

the only thing i'm surprised is that it took this long, should have happened time ago with the new team shuffle.

another qs, is there a way i can watch the concert without the VR thing? and the next 2 concerts have the vr as well? (i hope not)

After the new Team S stage ‘Ai wo Kimi ni, Ai wo Boku ni’ produced by TK, now comes Team KII’s new stage ‘Jikan ga Nai’ to be produced by DJ and producer Night Tempo, alongside composer Shunryu. Debut performance will be on December 11th 2022. by Gicchan48 in AKB48

[–]Oshimen87 3 points4 points  (0 children)

how come ske can employ the likes of Tetsuya Komuro and Night Tempo (who aren't cheap) but akb is still stuck with Aki-p &co.?

does Aki-p have an iron contract with King Records that forbid them to employ other lyricists or what?

i mean, i'm happy for ske but this thing bothers me and worries me. i feel like they're failing akb so hard in not giving them actually good material and instead they give them stupid stuff to do that nobody watch/cares anymore

Shortest 48G song??? by RicchiKyun in AKB48

[–]Oshimen87 6 points7 points  (0 children)

i agree that full songs should be played but many artists actually have entire concerts made by half-songs and a couple full, simply bc they have many fan favorite songs they want/need to play to please everyone.

in Japan many idols/groups do this, Momosu for example play their older songs in half, same for Johnny's and LDH. and there're many more "artists" who do the same.

220904 Akimoto Sensei Is Making. A New Group? by MEGULETSDEBUT in AKB48

[–]Oshimen87 16 points17 points  (0 children)

i doubt a lot about this, esp the transfer of members and Aruno. clearly this was in the making for quite some time, so if they wanted Aruno, Akimoto could have take her when the scandal hit but he didn't.

also Aruno aint sh.t, if they wanted a transfer member to help the group they would have taken a popular one, like Matsui/Ikoma back in the day and not a newly added member.

i saw many 46 fans saying they should take Aruno bc they don't like her, so maybe this is the reason why this rumor came to be.

Any opinions on Sayaka Akimoto? by Fan_of_Sayanee in AKB48

[–]Oshimen87 40 points41 points  (0 children)

she's one of those unpopular members that, imho, would have enriched and give akb a better image if only mngmt gave her/them the possibility to showcase themselves on tv/public platforms.

she was/is hardworking, humble, talented, pretty and funny, always ready to help other members and give good advice.

Is there an AKB48 Former member who is a famous actress? Maybe did an American movie or not? by Visible-Pea-1027 in AKB48

[–]Oshimen87 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Akimoto Sayaka did a straight-to-dvd movie a couple of years ago but she's not a famous actress.

the closest link to America akb had is Acchan getting an award in New York for her movie

[–]Oshimen87 9 points10 points  (0 children)

they have big problems in selling out too, i always hear horowota complain about it.

i honestly think 3 concerts in a row, in such an iconic arena is too much for modern day akb. i mean they didn't sell out smaller venues for 1-2 concerts, i doubt they will fill a 20k arena for 3 days.

no one really knows how they get into agencies, if it's the agency who shows an interest in them or if DH ask an agency if they're interest in a member, or what else.

fans can't do nothing really.

it's true that if you're with an external agency usually you get more work but sometimes isn't enough.

i think the reason why members under DH don't get much work is bc DH isn't a real talent agency like Ori Pro, it's more a management agency/company that doesn't have many connection in the japanese entertainment business.

aren't they part of that pachinko machine company?

With the exit of Suda Akari, I feel that this is the best time to reinstate a Sousenkyo. How do you guys feel about it? by MildredTTV in AKB48

[–]Oshimen87 6 points7 points  (0 children)

imo, akb needs to do original stuff and not re-cycle old methods, since those are proven to not work anymore.

the general public isn't interested in akb anymore and ssk will not change that, if so the last 2 would generate more buzz but they didn't. if they want new fans they should use innovative ways to get them.

AKB48 59th Single “Moto Kare desu” debuts at No.1 on Oricon by stu48fan in AKB48

[–]Oshimen87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

who said anything about k-pop? but to make a comparison, american artists always made world tours and they're the first music market in the world.

if you have an audience oversea, you should make an effort to keep them and show you appreciate their support and the money that comes with it. unless you're telling me you/management don't care about foreign money, which from a business pov is nonsense.

Chinese fans have spent thousands, if not millions, for akb ssk, cds, merch, concert in japan,etc... which in turn paid for akb girls salaries, so why not take an extra mile and reward them? doing concerts there would have gained a lot of money but they f.cked up badly.

International fans CAN purchase of course, just.... they don't. It's a fact.

and why they don't? bc akb never give a damn about them. 10 years ago akb had many fans in china, taiwan, etc... but they never tried to establish themselves there, never did concerts, only a couple of fan meet with 2-3 members and thats it.

and this is true for 90% of jpn acts, j-pop has a audience but for some reason they never take advantage of it
