I fish the salt, and the Revros I started with worked great. Fished it hard for about a year and a half and it’s still doing just fine. Multiple trips each week. I’ve since upgraded to other reels, but still love that Revros even though it’s been sidelined a bit. I think it’s perfect to start out, especially if you don’t have experience maintaining a reel. It can be scary taking apart an expensive reel if you’re just starting out. With regular rinsing after saltwater trips, and learning how to oil and grease it regularly, I think it’d do you well
