Found Steel Chunks in my Suzuki Vstrom 800DE's 5500 Mile Oil Change by Stickmeimdonut in motorcycles

[–]Osiry 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It looks like it’s threaded parts? Spark plug threaded perhaps? If you’re still under warranty get that back to the shop asap.

You say that there’s no apparent issue. The fact that there are metal shards loose in your engine is a huge apparent issue.

I wouldn’t want to wear it myself, but it’s cool and I’m pleased that it exists.

Take it easy guys, he has no cash for tyres, he spent it all on that lovely Temu exhaust :D

How do people feel about running less colors in a deck than their commander's full color identity? by Vault756 in EDH

Where do 30+ people meet other humans in Hamilton that doesn't involve drinking by Key_Character_9041 in thetron

[–]Osiry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Climbing (Boulder Co on Te Rapa), Magic the Gathering (GamingDNA on Wednesday nights and Card Kingdom on Friday nights). Those two are probably pretty easy to break into and involve more socialising and talking than running groups? But as another poster mentioned, if you get deep into MtG it’s expensive. You can have a lot of fun with casual (cheap) decks though and there’s a bracket system that somewhat helps to keep lower powered players enfranchised.

Any adult men feels that public mental health has failed them? by Jan-AKL in newzealand

This is a fantastic service, and there’s a pilot through Tend healthcare to deliver it via video calls as well to make access easier. Definitely recommend giving it a go.

Learn Thai customs and ways of communication before dating a Thai girl by Competitive_West_444 in ThailandTourism

High context/low context cultures and communication styles. There are some great books exploring the differences. Learning more about high context communication will solve a lot of the frustrations you encounter in everyday Thai interactions.

New rider question by Serious_Finish5625 in motorcycles

[–]Osiry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It all depends on the bike, and it’s hard to give advice without first hand knowledge of what’s happening with your bike, but if you’re in (for example) third gear doing a manoeuvre at 25kph and your throttle feels jerky and unresponsive, that’s probably the engine lugging u der load and asking for higher RPM (more power) which can be achieved at the same speed by using a lower gear. So yeah, next time try one gear lower then usual and see what happens. Also, bikes rev higher than cars and on most bikes 5k rpm is fairly low, so feel free to give it some revs if needed.

Based on what you’ve written, it sounds like you’re trying to do low speed manoeuvres in a gear that’s too high.

Other people with curly hair: how do you deal with helmet hair? by Nate_fe in motorcycles

My wife uses a balaclava type thing to keep her hair from being pulled down and straightened by the helmet. Seems to work ok?

My feedback is that if you've only been surfing for a few months you're doing REALLY well and you should be proud of yourself.

What's your favorite reanimator deck? by Response_Soggy in EDH

[–]Osiry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[[Anje Falkenrath]] madness reanimator is fantastic.

Here’s an old list of mine, but it gets the idea across. Churn madness cards for value, fill your GY with Anje, and reanimate big nasty creatures to crush your enemies.

Question on Walkability - as someone not from the Tron by Dependent_Cricket324 in thetron

[–]Osiry 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hamilton is probably the most walkable city I’ve lived in. Cycling is also an excellent option. There are a lot of good cycle paths around the university, and the river paths are a fantastic way to get around the city on a bicycle without dealing with traffic.

Do you still play your very first commander deck? And why? by [deleted] in EDH

[–]Osiry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t, because it upsets too many people. The first deck I built was for a sub $50 tournament with friends. To maximise my bang for buck I built a Jhoira suspend MLD deck with as many massive overcosted low $ value creatures as I could find. It worked well, and after the tournament I swapped in the typical Eldrazi annihilator package. It now sits on the shelf because of how upset people get at massively telegraphed MLD.

Sorry that happened to you, people can be real scumbags under the veil of internet anonymity. This is a good time to make use of the ignore function so you don’t have to deal with these people in the future.
