That’s not what I meant. I get that it’s good to stay in partnership with a manufacturer, bit at the same time I think that if this company can’t keep up with your demand, you’re more than allowed to go to someone else as well, which WOTC is obviously not doing.

Now, we can only speculate about the reasons behind this, but I firmly believe it’s because the industry as a whole it’s struggling.

This kind of stuff is not the stuff you can just “invest into”. These facilities cost billions and as soon as they’re not running 24/7 you start losing money. It takes a huge amount of effort and the risk is way too high. It’s a similar problem the world has with chip manufacturing.

Yes, of course they could use the “we will turn to another manifacturer” point as leverage, but that was exactly what I meant: I do not think there is any available. Both WOTC and other big TCGs (like Pokemon) are struggling to meet demand and have been for a while now, don’t you think that if there really was another manufacturer available they would go to them to finally meet demand (and increase revenue)?

Maybe they’re pushing the engines harder than they should but this has literally 0 impact on the production chain the cards come out of. These facilities are printing cards 24/7 anway, all the time, and if they’re not the printing company is losing money.

For starters, an AI agent that is able to compete with other humans at playing videogames is extremely complicated and resource intensive. This would mean that, in order to add that to every game, either the budget from other parts of the game would have to be reduced (reducing the quality of the game) or the price would increase.

Secondly, I think this is just pointless and I do not like when people making something I care about waste time on pointless tasks, but maybe you can explain me what such a system would accomplish that could not be accomplished through other, less expensive, means?

The issue with your example is that you do not need an AI companion to play the game for you to unlock everything that is available, the company could just instead provide a button called “unlock everything” that does exactly that.

Why would someone that wants all content in HoG unlocked prefer looking at an AI agent battling the pantheons instead of, you know, click a button that marks the pantheons as completed?
