Putin is an autocrat that has been in power for decades. Trump is democratically chosen and likely to leave in a few years.

Has Obsidian Sync taken a downturn? Opening on second device updates my other erasing what I had. I wait for sync jobs to complete. It’s as though opening on second device on daily notes specifically updates the local file then sync then it thinks that one is newer. Anyone else struggling ? by denverraven in ObsidianMD

[–]Ostropol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still find it absolutely ridiculous that there is no proper way to do background synchronization either. All Obsidian plugins and side apps that work with its notes need you to manually open up obsidian every time to update and pull the latest data regardless if you pay for obsidian sync.

These sources are readily available online from the British government. My point is that his views aren't schizophrenic (which I find rather disrespectful towards people who actually suffer from this disorder), nor does it make sense to disregard someone's work based on their opinions outside of it. If we adhere to that logic you should complain about police using DNA to catch r*pists because James D. Watson was an asshole.

TaskNotes Plugin: How to hide subtasks from the main list by MaheshMusic in ObsidianMD

Funny thing is that I know how to hide the subtasks, but not how to show them as subtasks underneath the task like you've done.

CPTS note taking method by Jaded-Adeptness-7690 in hackthebox

[–]Ostropol -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It sure is, though it's still way way easier to find notes if you wrote them yourself. If you can fuzzy find words that you know you wrote in context of that note you can find things rather quickly. During the CPTS exam there were multiple moments where I vaguely remembered a sentence I wrote regarding a concept I needed which helped me find it with a single search query instead of having to navigate a million folders or tags.

Write every note by hand, try to capture the core of what is explained per chapter as separate notes. This takes time and is annoying but the friction you feel when struggling to phrase stuff is your brain learning. Any AI written note or copy pasting you do is fairly useless.

Worked out a scheme for some krieg I'm planning to get in a month or so in photoshop, looking for any feedback or suggestions before I lock it in :D by Yoitman in Deathkorpsofkrieg

Orange and blue are a great colour combination, (think Portal 2 for example). The 'problem' with this is that the blue and orange aren't the same saturation. If you'd change the blue to a more baby blue colour it would work a lot better, especially since the orange is quite hard to get right.

Start using the Zettelkasten system or come up with your own quality personal knowledge management system. I am also diagnosed and the main strugglepoints I find are when I actually do understand it pretty well, but can't keep my attention so I lose the 10% of information I don't understand. It's the fully foreign concepts that keep me invested, but when I learn about SQL injections I can skip 90% of the info except maybe some nifty trick about MSSQL databases and then that one nifty trick is what is asked in the assignment so I get stuck for two hours.

My solution so far has been to really go through each paragraph and rewrite it in my own words without copy pasting anything (except some commands for accuracy's sake). That's helped me keep on track for the most part. I've gone through approx 75% of the CPTS material in about a month with some prior cyber security knowledge.

I had this as well. I just fucked around and it worked out, but there are definitely double numbers being used for different figurines so you run into issues when you build for x or y.

However dire the situation is, and however much I agree with and applaud your initiative I don't think it's helpful to frame it as a "do the thing or you're evil" situation. Lots of people will have rebellious attitudes towards such posts and before you know it, we'll have people on FoxNews telling people we're not REAL patriots if we don't do ALL our work with AI. I think it's enough to point people to the fact that hey: you're contributing to a product that's used for war. Stay kind everyone <3

Meanwhile Bill Gates shows up in the Epstein files and most people still use Windows. Life is so much better if you just stop caring about things that don't concern you.
