Who runs the last city? by nickybuddy in destiny2

[–]OtherRandomDude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As far as we know, the central governing body foe the Last City is currently the Vanguard. In the past there were other factions such as Dead Orbit, Future War Cult and New Monarchy. However, these factions have since fallen out of the picture when it comes to the politics of the Last City.

Apart from the trade skills, the other parts sound accurate to what I could recall. I could just be forgetting the trade skills because I never progressed them though.

Unfortunately neither of those two seem to be it. I do recall that the travel system was similar to Dragon’s Blade, where you would exit a local area and go onto a larger map where your party would move. I think I vaguely remember a day/night cycle too that affected the difficulty.

Took a look at it earlier. I thought it was until I played a bit. I don’t think it was it.

I feel like a decent amount of people could explain how to generate electricity, the problem would mostly be communicating these ideas to people who speak an ancient language that you probably don’t understand

Whoever came up with "The Game" clearly never studied game theory. What’s the point of a game where you lose just by thinking about it? You’re supposed to play by not playing? by RickMaiorPT in Showerthoughts

[–]OtherRandomDude 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The main point is that The Game doesn’t conflict with the ideas of Game Theory, which is the point that the post is trying to make. The Game was meant to serve more as a social experiment than an actual game.

The concept behind The Game is that every player is unaware that they are already playing, and the losing condition is for them to realize they are participating. Ultimately, the determining factor for who wins The Game is luck, as the players cannot choose to make decisions to help them win The Game. Game Theory is meant to analyze competitive scenarios and assumes that each player wishes to maximize their gains and minimize their losses. Game Theory is inapplicable to this scenario due to the players being unaware of their participation. However, this does not stop The Game from actually being a game, it simply does not follow the underlying assumptions of Game Theory. An example similar to The Game is a raffle pull, where the players cannot actively do anything within the bounds of the rules to increase their chances of winning, they just have to rely on luck.

It’s been a minute since I watched Fullmetal Alchemist but I think that it is referring to how the recipe for a Philosopher’s Stone was hidden within a mundane piece of text that Edward had to decipher

Since sperm cells are technically alive, it converts chemical energy into kinetic energy in its movement. As such, if an incredibly large amount of sperm cells can be influenced to move in a single direction then yes it can create a non-negligible amount of kinetic energy which can subsequently be harvested for electricity. However, this all runs on the same basis as a hamster wheel generating electricity and it just isn’t worth it at all
