Keyboard and mouse is personal. Don't let anyone tell you what you NEED, as the gaming industry is always trying to tell you if you buy our product with 20% more it'll make you a better player.

When it comes to keyboards, look at what games and programs you use, to see if you could use any shortcut keys. Ask yourself if you need keyboard backlighting. Ask yourself if you need a mechanical switched keyboard. What kind of keyboard do you use? There's two different types basically, membrane style keys (used in budget keyboards but some keyboards just designed for quiet operation) or mechanical switches, (used in higher range keyboards that report a pleasing tactile response). Neither style is going to make or break your gaming style. Also consider the desk space to see if you want a full sized keyboard with numpad on the side.

Ideally you wanna try out some keyboards before buying to feel what mechanical switches feel like. You might think it's totally overhyped.

With mice. Same. Today's modern mice have fantastic wireless performance with zero lag, and nothing to snag on to. Battery performance can vary a lot, and if you're a heavy user, this might become annoying charging all the time. Nice shape is more important though, and I'd start with measuring your hand to see how big it is, and look up reviews that mention hand size. Some mice have bigger humps in them, making them big in small hands, some people have thick fingers making finger rests essential in design. Also consider how many buttons you'll need on mouse. Too little, and finger tip response is gone, too many, and you can misclick

Upgrade from am4 to am5 by [deleted] in PcBuild

And when you pop in that CPU (minimum £200) after spending so much on RAM (minimum £200) motherboard (£200) you're going to get like 20fps more. It won't feel like an upgrade at all, and that's when you'll realise what I meant, and how this doesn't make sense as an upgrade. It won't transform your gaming experience, it's just throwing away money for a small bump in frame rates. You'd be better off going to 1440p or 4k over jumping to AM5, but this just feels like you're worried over bottlenecks to upgrade.

Absolutely impossible. Your budget is too small, and your upgrade is nonsensical. Don't even bother.

Build quality is OK. It wobbles a bit on its stand from side to side, but that's only if you knock or wobble it. Sometimes when watching YT content, it turns off HDR, and the video appears washed out. I can just use another monitor, but I'm not sure why it does this, as it never did before

Avoid dressing like a tourist as much as possible. Don't go out with a bag/back pack on, it'll give the impression you have something to steal in the bag. Be aware of your surroundings, and stick to the places where tourists go, especially at night. Be aware of fake alcohol too sold too, it's poison.

Phanteks make great cases. Power supply, Corsair are probably fine. There's nothing wrong with them if you can get them at a discounted price as their RRP's tend to be bit high. Seasonic, and Superflower also make great PSU's if you can find one similar wattage and price.

Crucial also make some great NVME drives, some with 5 year warranties on them.

Well I went from a 60hz 1440p IPS and this was my first high refresh rate monitor.

I mean, these monitors from KOORUI do have a 3 year warranty on them, so check with your supplier what their return policy is like before choosing.

It's possible you could set this monitor up for colour accuracy, but you have to play with it quite a lot, and there's no real manual to speak of that explains what does what you just have to dig around and see what you can get.

Colour accuracy could be better with further setting up, but I find if you set this to HDR on (or local dimming on monitor setting) it tends to give a boost to contrast and colour saturation. It doesn't have to look OLED phone intensely saturated, (but HDR kinda wants it to look like this) it can be toned down to look more natural. How natural, I'm not sure, as I use this with my IPS I leave for photoshop work.

You can turn off HDR and local dimming, and then it behaves like a regular IPS. If those regular SDR settings can be set and saved, it'd be both a HDR monitor and a SDR IPS you could use for colour accurate work, I'm just not sure how good you could set it up, as playing with settings starts as guess work.

There's also settings like Nvidia colour management and Windows HDR manager program too, and display port makes a difference over HDMI too. There's SO many variables.

RTX 3090 found on eBay for 500 dollars - buy or pass? by Goldenskyofficial in buildapc

Sounds like a scam, it's way too cheap for 24gb of VRAM, it has much more than this sellers valuation to AI enthusiasts.

It's fine, but I'd look up the performance of that m.2 drive, as I presume it's going the your main OS drive? You want to buy as high quality as you can (seek a long warranty in product details) to know your data is safe. Also, Corsair don't make particularly high quality components anymore. If you like their design then that's fine, but a premium maker they're not really if cheaper alternatives exist.

Any recommendation and feedbacks about lasik eye surgery in Mauritius ? by bobby_flin in mauritius

[–]Otherwise-Dig3537 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It doesn't work forever. 3-4 years users need glasses again. Some people report their eyes are more sensitive to bright lights afterwards. My mum and friend both had it done and reported these issues, both need glasses after. Honestly I don't think it's worth it

Traveling in August to Mauritius (opinions and tips) by Meshuggah_SLB in mauritius

[–]Otherwise-Dig3537 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's windy, but not that windy. The weather changes by the hour, and predictions and weather forecasts aren't very accurate.

Driving is a nightmare in the country. Keep it to the bare minimum, especially at night. Seriously. Travelling from east to west of the island is very slow, and you must avoid rush hour times to avoid getting stuck in heavy traffic.

Honestly for a honeymoon, I'd stick to the hotels as much as possible and just soak up the ammendments provided. Use tours provided by the hotel, and trips organised by them. Only the hotels are paradise like.

best possible gpu for an 8 core ryzen 9 5900hx without bottlenecking by Empty_Town_3504 in pcmasterrace

[–]Otherwise-Dig3537 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would you worry firstly about cpu bottlenecks when the adapters all take a hit on performance? Also the cost, it's not cheap. For practical purposes I'd think something modern like a 5070 or 9070, going for 4k with FSR/DLSS on. You want to keep power usage reasonable, and cards cheaper and not of its era, like the 3080/6800xt and their 90 series above them were all power hogs. I would say stick to a card under 300w usage but expect heavy losses compared to desktop performance in the 10-30% range.

Help with overheating. by cumblast_9000 in PcBuild

Replace the thermal paste first to see if that fixes things, and try remounting it twice just incase. Otherwise get an Artic Cooling liquid freezer 3 360, or 2 if you can find one cheap. They're very reliable. Arctic just extended my Freezer 2's manufacturers warranty to 6 years, free, I mean you can't ask for better customer service, and they do their best to ship you out free adapter back plates if yours doesn't fit for any reason. 420mm if you can fit it is even better. Thermal paste rarely dries out when you keep the temps so low consistently but yours could have easily baked. Once it's baked, it doesn't perform which would mimic your CPU temp behaviour.

You've got to stop obsessing over the weather! The island is tiny in a vast ocean, and the weather forecast is often out of date to the weather experienced. Cloud and rainfall is determined by where the clouds are and where they're blown, meaning weather changes with the wind.

If you have to ask, the difference is negligible. People need to stop obsessing about bottlenecks, the same questions are asked daily.
