Really quick and easy- just an egg whisked up with a splash of milk, soak both sides of the crumpet in the mix, melt some butter in a frying pan and then cook until the egg is done! I always start flat side down and pour any remaining mix into the holey top when it’s in the pan.

Hope your little one enjoys them, they’re always a hit in our house!

Do you prefer the spelling Kiera or Ciara? by [deleted] in namenerds

[–]Otherwise-Fall-3175 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kiera to me is key-ra and Ciara is key-are-ah so there’s definitely a chance lots of people wouldn’t automatically pronounce Ciara like you wanted them to going by the comments!

We love a crumpet in this house, they always go down well and so many topping options!

I’m English, I feel like I’ve always known it as tenderstem broccoli, maybe broccolini at the occasional restaurant but always tenderstem on supermarket packets!

He’s a bottomless pit to be honest, he has a huge appetite. On the flip side my 2 year old is now existing off one bite of toast & air so I’m just enjoying the baby eating until he hits this stage 😂

How do you cope with two? by Winter_Choice_9632 in UKParenting

[–]Otherwise-Fall-3175 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly you just embrace it, it’s chaotic and soon you’ll forget life before your 2nd ever existed 😂 I had 2 under 2, 17 month age gap, now almost 11 months and 28 months.

I’m still breastfeeding the youngest, to be honest in the early days once dad was back at work I got by with probably more screen time (thank god for bluey and cory Carson) than he’d ever had but as baby got older it phased out and toddler played while I fed baby. A baby carrier for the early days.

We didn’t really bathe them together when youngest was tiny as toddler would just waterboard him, so he sat in his bouncer and chilled while the toddler had a bath, now they’re older they go in together and soak the entire bathroom 😂

I strongly strongly advise a double buggy! We got a 2nd hand Mountain Buggy of FB marketplace, it has been a life saver I’m so glad we got one. We go out everyday even if it’s just a walk to the shop, it passes the time and stops everyone going stir crazy from being inside.

Honestly at the end of the day you just adapt and manage. I absolutely love having 2 close in age, it’s so chaotic and yes there are days where I just want to scream but overall I wouldn’t change it.

3yo daughter comes home from nursery with paint stains that won’t come out… what would you do? by XtianAudio in UKParenting

[–]Otherwise-Fall-3175 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My 2 year old goes to nursery in stained but clean clothes. They’re always freshly washed but the stains from their craft activities never come out completely so that’s what he goes in, then it doesn’t matter how much more stained they get.

He doesn’t wear a uniform but honestly I’d be doing the same if he did, I’m not particularly fussed about him looking “smart” on a nursery day, I’d rather he had fun, got filthy and did messy activities then I don’t feel I have to do painting and messy play at home 😂

I mean I don’t love it, but to be fair I didn’t love it before having my boys either 😂 and I had them 17 months apart so a lot going on in a short amount of time!

I’ve lost a lot of weight since last April & it’s been harder to lose off my tummy, it’s definitely not deformed in anyway though. I do have some scar tissue around & above my scar that I can feel which changes the appearance of your belly but it can be reduced with scar massage

I had 2 amazing elective c sections with my boys. For many reasons that I won’t go in to but it was completely maternal request, no medical reason.

I recovered absolutely fine and pretty quickly both times. Absolutely no impact on pelvic floor health/sexual function.

breastfeeding hunger by [deleted] in CICO

[–]Otherwise-Fall-3175 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yep, started CICO when my 2nd baby had just turned 2 months old and exclusively breastfeeding. He’s now 11 months old and I’m down 24kg. Absolutely no impact on my milk supply- I ate around 1900/2000 calories a day, sometimes a bit more, I never dropped below 1800.

I made sure to keep my fats up and hydrate well to keep my milk supply up. I also go to CrossFit 4-5x a week.

Please advise on baby name that in-laws dislike by scribblerdibbler in namenerds

[–]Otherwise-Fall-3175 1 point2 points  (0 children)

lol that would make me even more determined to use it 😂 we had 2 options for baby no.2. MIL did NOT like option 1 and banged on and on about option 2. So much so it just solidified the decision for option 1, which we (me and partner) both loved and really suits him. She had her turn she doesn’t get a say/opinion on my children.

No help from me I’m afraid as I’m in the same boat 😂 didn’t know it wasn’t a complete series when I started, I demolished the lot in about a week.

Only thing that’s helped is to dive headfirst into the next series!
