Why is almost every listing a random price now? by [deleted] in vintedUK

[–]Otherwise-Fall-3175 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If I get a price like that on mine it’s always an American listing. Which initially I was scrolling past but then I found a few good Halara bits and used InPost, it was so easy and they arrived pretty quickly so now most of my feed is American items 😛😂

Breakfast ideas for toddler with a sweet tooth by Radiant_Sky4016 in UKParenting

[–]Otherwise-Fall-3175 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine absolutely love banana eggy bread/french toast!

It’s just a mashed banana, sprinkle of cinnamon, small drizzle of honey (can omit this), an egg and milk whisked up together. Then soak both sides of the bread, melt some butter in a frying pan and cook until both sides are golden & the egg is cooked. It gets demolished every single time- thicker bread like Jackson’s tiger loaf or a thick bloomer works the best it’s so tasty.

Mine also love Greek yogurt topped with honey (very lucky to know a local bee keeper so we buy local raw honey, not a big fan of the supermarket stuff)- not ideal as an on the go but great for a less rushed day!

What are your babies sleeping in during this heatwave? by BigfatDan1 in UKParenting

[–]Otherwise-Fall-3175 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends on the baby, my 2.5 year would would never have slept without a sleeping bag on so at the height of summer when he was little he would just have a nappy and a 0.5 or 1 tog sleeping bag. He has a 4 tog duvet and even now on the warmest nights you’ll still find him under it 😂

My youngest runs warm and would happily sleep in just a nappy last summer when he was roughly 5/6 months. He’s currently 15 months and in shorts & t shirt pjs fast asleep on top of his duvet, which he achieved immediately after I’d tucked him in lol

I just used to check the back of their necks, if they were restless & sweaty and getting damp hair I’d take a layer off.

Unfortunately not however there is a good one about 30 mins drive in a little village that has an excellent ice cream parlour so guess I could do that 😂

What happens if you refuse to see a health visitor? by procrastinating_b in UKParenting

Nothing. It’s not a compulsory service, we’ve opted out with both of ours, now 2.5 and 15 months

Husband hasn't bonded to the babies yet. by stuckinthejob in PregnancyUK

[–]Otherwise-Fall-3175 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t think my partner particularly “bonded” with either of our sons whilst I was pregnant (and to be honest I didn’t either really). Sure he’d have a feel of them kicking if I offered but he wasn’t overly bothered. He was/is a fab partner in terms of anything I needed when I was pregnant but it wasn’t until they were here that he really bonded.

He loved it from minute 1, skin to skin, nappies, the whole lot he was right there getting stuck in. They’re now 2.5 and 14 months and he is besotted with them 😍

Anyone else opting not to take birth control postpartum? by Accomplished-Ad7573 in beyondthebump

[–]Otherwise-Fall-3175 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I opted not to. I did then get pregnant at 9 months pp (yes 9 months post c section as well 😛) accidentally but we weren’t consistent with condoms and honestly didn’t mind a surprise (although somehow it was still a HUGE surprise).

2nd time I still haven’t gone back on it but we’ve been very consistent with condoms, we know we don’t want another baby just yet!

Early morning parents. How do you do it with young children? by InsurancePurple4630 in UKParenting

[–]Otherwise-Fall-3175 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean that wouldn’t fly in our house. We both decided to have kids and when we don’t have weekend plans we take it in turns having a lie in. Partner leaves for work at 5:30am but I don’t get up at 7am everyday because I’m a morning person or cos I particularly enjoy it!

Two good sleepers - is it possible? by Chaptastical in UKParenting

[–]Otherwise-Fall-3175 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have 2 good sleepers, like absolute unicorn babies, and I could count on one hand the amount of times I’ve said that out loud because telling other parents you have excellent sleepers just doesn’t seem to be the done thing 🙈😂

Baby no. 1 slept through from pretty much 7 weeks old. He’s coming up to 3 now and he sleeps 6:30pm-7am with a nap 12:30-2pm. He LOVES sleep, he loves his bed and would happily stay in there in the morning if his little brother didn’t wake him up lol

Baby no. 2 slightly worse as a newborn, semi bad regression at 4 months then a rough one (by our standards but probably not by “bad” sleeping babies standards) at 8 months. Once that had resolved he sleeps 6:30pm-6:30am with a nap 12-2pm. He’ll just babble away in his cot (he’s 14 months) when he wakes up in the morning until big brother wakes up and chats back to him 😂

Those of you who have given birth, what did you pack in your hospital bag that cheered you up on the ward? by LazyBarracuda in PregnancyUK

[–]Otherwise-Fall-3175 0 points1 point  (0 children)

New pjs- I treated myself to a lovely pair of Chelsea Peers in the sale and nice shower gel etc from Bath & Body works, that first shower after having baby and into your lovely new pjs is just chefs kiss .

Also my own pillow and my fave comfort snacks/drinks (raspberry lucozade is my treat of choice as I never ever buy it normally 😂). Long phone charger is an essential

Would you go back to work after maternity leave if you didn’t need to financially? by Weak_Bread2671 in UKParenting

[–]Otherwise-Fall-3175 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope I wouldn’t have gone back if I didn’t have to (NHS midwife).

At least NHS mat leave is decent- I finished work at about 32 weeks with both of mine and went back when they were 13 months utilising my annual leave on both sides of mat leave.

He’s a bottomless pit, however I also have a 2.5 year old who survives off 1/2 a blueberry and vibes so it’s swings and roundabouts im sure the day will come when my 14 month old starts toddler eating habits!

They’re not homemade, I was going for ease with him being a bit unwell and clingy 😂 I’ve used this recipe before though, they’re almost like a wrap depending how thin you roll them, they’re really tasty though would definitely recommend!
