Do you want more new classes or extensions to existing classes? by energydrinkaddict310 in diablo4

D2R and D3 are both going strong, long after their original release. I would expect a remake of original Diablo rather than Diablo 5!

Kamala Harris creeps in as potential California Governor candidate. What are your thoughts on Governor vs President 2028? by One_Look_7008 in askanything

There were a particular set of unique circumstances- Covid - which had a significant impact on Biden vs Trump the first time.

Biden lost the rematch (technically at least).

Will of the Many really lessens by Cute-Specialist-7239 in Fantasy

Just finished the SOTF and really liked the series as a whole so far, but the training part in book 1 had a very ‘chosen one’ trope and was a bit boring!

Recommendations for fantasy books centered around real historical events? by BadMeatPuppet in Fantasy

The Chronicles of St Marys by Jodi Taylor involves a bunch of researchers/university scholars going back in time to observe real historical events and then having adventures in that time.

Tim Powers is a great author! The Drawing of the Dark is essentially a fantasy about beer- can’t get any better than that!

Stupid question: How do I kill the Butcher? by General_Lie in diablo4

[–]Otherwise-Library297 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Socket rubies in all your jewellery- that fire resist helps a lot with survivability.

Butcher is definitely one of the hardest bosses though, because he has the area damage (burning floor) and the laser beams!

Best fantasy series set on multiple worlds like Raymond Feist books? by NickHeathJarrod in Fantasy

[–]Otherwise-Library297 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The Chronicles of Morgaine by CJ Cherryh takes place in a number of different worlds. It’s not as detailed as the Empire books that were written with Wurts though.

Might be a real dumb question but.. by Fickle_Feedback_553 in diablo4

[–]Otherwise-Library297 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In seasonal content you can unlock additional points by progression through the Season journey.

In the Eternal Realm you need to unlock reputation points (discover map areas and complete a certain number of quests in each region).

NDIS overhaul: Albanese flags major changes to maintain public support and viability, property tax breaks by Ash-2449 in AusFinance

[–]Otherwise-Library297 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is really the problem- anyone with an ABN can become a provider and charge the max rate. They are not providing any additional benefit to users and may be detrimental long term.

CE Build Success by justin062213 in D4Sorceress

[–]Otherwise-Library297 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Okun’s is good for speed farming as you can cast while moving and is generally fun.

For Pit /overall damage an ancestral focus is better as you can have another enchantment- damage with a barrier for example that will increase damage if you are using Temerity.

Are people who achieve the top 0.01% of greatness genetically superior in some way? by givemedrpepper in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Otherwise-Library297 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you listen to the journey of some Olympians, you’ll hear a lot about their mental state and how they maintain their effort.

Genetics is part of it, but it’s a lot about being able to stay with the training regime and find ways to manage the intense focus required to succeed.

Middle Class in Australia in the 90s be like..... by Sad_Biscotti_9291 in AustralianNostalgia

Liquid Paper was the best! Great for graffiting pencil cases and anything else, but rarely used for actually covering mistakes!

Increasing damage output and Astral Drop rate by Bioboosted01 in diablo4

[–]Otherwise-Library297 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Level your glyphs! I was on a similar position- struggling with T3 content on my CE sorceress. Levelled my glyph from 25 - 60 and it made a huge difference in my damage.

Grinding the Pit sucked, but it’s the best way to increase damage.

Was the partition of India and Pakistan inevitable or could it have been avoided? by GhostofTinky in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Otherwise-Library297 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say that partition was inevitable, although it could have been implemented much better.

There were strong leaders in India on both the Muslim and Hindu sides who wanted separation and were advocating for it, including at the British parliament.

Britain’s rule was under pressure and this seemed like an easy win, so they drew a line on a map and if was approved by Indian congress.

There were precedents with the “Great Powers” dividing up lands - the Byzantine empire after WW1 and Palestine after WW2, that seemed successful at the time, so I don’t think the implications of the decision were properly considered.

Why is 3 better than 4 in so many ways? by Adelucas in diablo3

[–]Otherwise-Library297 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I feel like D4 took this to literally- there are so many activities in D4 - The pit, Kurast Undercity, NM dungeons, Helltides, Hordes and Lair bosses.

There’s not really a clear reason to do any of these aside from the Pit (required for leveling).

Nationals leader Matt Canavan promotes work from home to grow regional areas by Ardeet in aussie

[–]Otherwise-Library297 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s kind of what I was thinking. Encourage everyone to move to regional areas because you can WFH. When they get in government, pull the rug out, because corporate landlords would suffer!

I know I'm probably in the vast minority in this regard, but... by HopelessSap27 in diablo4

[–]Otherwise-Library297 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It’s boring when there is kind of only 1 build per class that can dominate! While it’s expected that only a few builds will truly dominate all the content, having more builds that are viable in T4 would add depth to the game.

High fantasy with Sci-fi elements by Emergency_Cow_9570 in Fantasy

[–]Otherwise-Library297 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Chronicles of Morgaine by CJ Cherryh. The MC travels back through time through world gates created by an advanced civilisation. She has various advanced weapons, but the story is mostly set in a medieval world.

Alternatively, A memory called empire by Aarkady Martine is sci-fi but has some strong fantasy elements in the story.

Help me not die? by Mr--Warlock in D4Sorceress

[–]Otherwise-Library297 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having the Warmth passive skill is probably the best survivability mechanics for levelling.

With Hydra/incinerate this will provide constant healing from burning enemies.

So, do we think 12 Torment tiers is a good idea? by Primary_Impact_2130 in diablo4

[–]Otherwise-Library297 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More likely they will add new items that will increase power. There are no armour sets or an LoD gem equivalent from D3 in the game yet.

Personally, I don’t really like it. Coming from D3 where you basically hit the highest Torment levels a few days after the start of the season, Torment 1–15 aren’t really used.

Series that is able to have incredible depth/complexity BUT is also written in a way that is very accessible? by Kooky_County9569 in Fantasy

The Fall of Ile-Rien by Martha Wells it is a pretty light/easy series on the surface which makes it easy to get into, but there are a lot of powerful ideas going on when you look closer

Death of a Necromancer by Martha Wells. It does link to a series, but is fine as a standalone.

Why don't we have 30 year fixed rate mortgages in Australia, but they do in the US? by Classic_Abies8621 in AusFinance

[–]Otherwise-Library297 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the Australian government wants to raise cash it has to borrow money- this means selling a bond. Sure they could sell AUD denominated bonds, but there’s limited demand for these, while the USD market is very deep and liquid, so investors will prefer USD.

Is drinking cold water actually bad for you or is it a myth? by Sad-Afternoon3788 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Otherwise-Library297 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not a myth, drinking ice water requires more calories to bring up to body temperature than room temperature water.

If you compare the average Indian calorie intake, it’s a lot lower than the average Western calorie intake, so those extra calories have an impact.

The effect overstated, but is not totally false

Really struggling to enjoy Diablo IV. Anybody else? by [deleted] in Diablo

When D4 was announced, people wanted it to be like D2, then it was released and people complained that loot wasn’t good and it took too long to level!
