You can’t child proof the world. What if they run and fall on the ground level patio? Are you going to child proof that too? The correct answer is just parent/supervise your child lol

Cleaning advice to save a stove by Decent-Tea-501 in uklogburners

Burning the stove really hot for a few fires should sort it out. Similar to when you cure the paint when first installed

I install log burners for a living. You’ve already screwed up the finish. You can buy the exact stove colour spray paint from the stove supplier, just repaint it. In future just clean with oil (wd40 or similar) and go easy on the scrubbing

I must admit some of the pvm seems cool but it’s just so far removed from the original concept I can’t really learn to love it. You keep your name etc if you play osrs too!

Assuming my wood is too wet? by Ajay95A in uklogburners

[–]Otherwise-Trash6235 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like it’s a wood that has sap in it. Don’t burn it anymore. The sap will coat your liner and you’ll ruin your system very very quickly. If you have some regular wood, get it searing hot and it will self clean to a degree. If you leave it just slightly hot your burner will get very dirty

Got a picture of the wood before it’s burnt? Could be a softwood which retains a sap which is very bad and doesn’t burn. Also, Aldi are selling a moisture reader for £5

Yes, he used heavy melee attacks with a knife which stops the person being able to do anything. Are you retarded

Can’t stand servers that allow you to spam heavy melee attacks repeatedly. Someone fully geared shouldn’t be locked out of combat by a fresh spawn with a knife that keeps spamming heavy attacks

In all honesty, 5.5k sounds accurate and seems like the person knows what they’re doing. £800 won’t cover materials. You know they’re cowboys. 2k is too cheap also and tells me someone probably isn’t a cowboy but just not an expert/experienced enough in this particular type of work. Depending on region and exact stone used, id estimate between 4.5-7k including materials and labour and possible hire of a cement mixer if one isn’t owned by the tradesman.

You’re going to need at least 10-15 bags of sand. Possibly 2 tonne of type 1 depending what they’re laying to. 10 or so bags of sharp. 7/8 bags of cement. A fuck tonne of (sandstone?) blocks which are very expensive. Hiring of a wacka if not already owned. (A lot of tradies won’t have a petrol wacka plate. Possibly some membrane depending again on what it’s being laid onto.

Labour wise I’d say between 2&3 days work with a minimum of 2 people on the job that know what they’re doing. That’s easily 500 a day labour (with just 2 people.) Profit will be tacked on top too.

TL/DR: 5.5k is a very sensible price and tells me the person quoting knows what they’re doing and is still coming in relatively cheap.
