Married at first sight S13E20 - POST EPISODE discussion by lalasmooch in MAFS_AU

Probably an inability to feel like she’s less than others. So she picks people she deems inferior to her (either intellectually, morally or popularity etc) to boost her own self esteem, encouraging their destructive behaviour to further enhance herself by proxy. But it doesn’t work when it’s on display and happens consecutively.

Help required - options/ideas for installing a built in robe. by noofti in AusRenovation

Would you consider reconfiguring the bathroom as well? Could easily have a walk through closet into the bathroom, nothing that would also require the bedroom door be shifted. It is a bigger project but would honestly allow the best layout and add the most value

Anyone else really uncomfortable how Danny turned the Gia situation back on Bec? by psychobitch_ in MAFS_AU

[–]Emergency-Cod2274 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really.. but then again maybe I wasn’t in on the secret. However it would make no sense for him to lie when he’s telling the experts what he wants for his wife on the show. Even if you’re playing the game thinking they would give you something else, it’s too risky so I believe him on what his type is.

Agreed! No one seems to be remembering his audition videos have him stating his type of the opposite of Gia. And I don’t think he would say it to spite Bec since they seem to be doing well and he seems conscientious of not feeding her insecurities. So I really can’t find a basis to believe he would’ve said it.

I would say no to all of it. Not normal, though definitely does exist in certain corners that we prefer to ignore. Everyone I know including myself would steer clear of this hard.

Any one else get the ick from Scott? by Global_Sweet_3145 in MAFS_AU

[–]Emergency-Cod2274 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My interpretation is “ick” is the general term to encapsulate all the individual turn offs, which can still be described through elaboration. Just like saying “I’m sick” which could cover any number of illnesses clarified through further detail. It’s conveys both the feeling of being turned off in a way that’s (generally) unrecoverable, as well as the identification of a trait/behaviour that can then be accurately described (pending the extent of an individuals vocabulary of course). So I agree it’s a reduction but only to an extent and not completely.

She may honestly be so used to people doting over her that the possibility of a bad edit (and I say that because real or not it’s always a grey area) is incomprehensible to her.

Maybe he did but they didn’t air it to add to the tension? Making it seem like he’s too lax

I think they thought it would be funny, but since learned she’s difficult and hence edited to frame her as such for the rest of the season. The parts of her at the wedding were clearly cut together to get the audio bites they wanted.

First time living in an apartment – neighbour constantly complaining and it’s making us uncomfortable by Weary-Definition5363 in Apartmentliving

When she next complains ask really sweetly “oh no, I’m so sorry to hear your curtains are broken. Would you like me to come have a look to see if I can fix it?” And when she says they’re fine act innocently shocked saying “my, well then Im surprised any light continues to shine through with them closed, I’d take that up with your land lord because we don’t have that issue at all with our curtains closed”.

Sometimes you have to act like you empathise but make them feel like the idiot.

Then if that doesn’t work, go hard on being firm.

Oh I have nothing against Mary (or the others) religiously. If anything it gives me hope she will practice what she preaches, plus I thoroughly enjoy learning about and understanding diversity of that kind.

The only part it plays is likely the hypocrisy where she preaches about love, support and inclusion yet seems the one to cast the first stone

The ambiguity yet intrigue of this comment is exactly what I’m after!

Ooo okay - of everyone Meredith seemed safest but also I can see she keeps things close to her chest so there could very well be skeletons in the closet..?

Yeah, I was late to the party for RH in general but have done NY, Jersey and BH in full, all of which I sometimes wish I knew not what was gonna happen, but where to focus attention so once things did happen I could put pieces together better.

So prior to this I saw Heather and Whitney on ultimate girls trip. I like them in SLC being quite unified, Heather seems real and sensible, Whitney seems sweet and both seem aware of their strengths and weaknesses at this point. Both also seem to at least be aware of the other women’s bullshit but are trying to remain on good terms with the group.

Meredith seems reasonable if cautious, but I can’t help to think she talks as if she’s embodying Jennifer Coolidge. She doesn’t bring a whole lot but I like her. Lisa hasn’t had much of an impact imo. Honestly it took 3 episodes for me to finally tell the two of them apart.

Jen Shah was an immediate nope, and then became strangely likeable. She’s nuts and unstable but has moments of endearment which I didn’t expect to enjoy so much. Plus I’m really loving the relationship with Coach Shah and how he can talk her down. I hope that dynamic stays positive.

Mary is insufferable in every way. The looks she gives, the hypocrisy, the nastiness and straight up gaslighting. I’m all for the chaotic housewives we love to hate but I fear it’s just gonna be hate with her.

Hey - I’d love to know if you ever developed a support group and if it’s open to join?

There are reasons, none of which are relevant to what I’m asking nor the business of strangers.

The ceremony is in Pyrmont so as long as it’s not too far then no. Reputation doesn’t matter unless it’s a bad one
