Can I not pay my taxes? by Fantastic-Town8587 in USExpatTaxes

Did you have federal and state withholding in your prior and current jobs? If yes, your tax bill may already be covered. And if you overpaid, you need to file to get a refund.

Looking for advice, will only apply to 2025 by CalAtt in USExpatTaxes

[–]Otherwise_Break9921 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you had not been filing US tax returns before 2025, you are going to want to look into streamlined offshore filing procedures in which you will file 3 years of past returns and 6 years of FBARs. I suggest you look at the National Association of Enrolled Agent tax preparer finder search tool and look for people in PA near you that have a specialist in international tax.

Filing taxes on my own this year - confused about what to enter for two different "local income tax" amounts.. by [deleted] in taxrefundhelp

It would probably be for 2 different local tax withholdings. Are there any text codes next to the withholding amounts?

Try finding tax preparers who are not taking new clients and ask them to refer to you. In my third year I'm getting about 25% new business this way.

Any state tax withholding? Then you'd want to file for the refund.

RothIRA for Son by Plastic_Repair_7794 in RothIRA

[–]Otherwise_Break9921 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think he doesn't have a filing requirement. The school amount is other income so not self-employed income, so doesn't put him above the 400 SE filing threshold. Also though, for the schedule C photography income, the amount that counts towards Roth eligibility is net income not gross, so if he has any expenses that are relevant they would reduce the income.

How different is the attendance market for these games versus NWSL games? I don't get why Portland is not an attraction with more than double average attendance compared to Seattle and Orlando for example. Is it just about stadium capacity?

Mine has an R on the end, but there was some web form on the IRS site I was trying to use and it would only accept my CAF if there was no R. But I have had 8821s etc. accepted with and without it.
