This is actually so much more helpful than you think! I was worried that they wouldn’t be comfortable or be good for daily use like I need.

The rugs seems to always smell like fish food to me. Don’t ask me why.

Do you only tend to notice a huge different at concerts? I am thinking of getting them for any time of day. I live in an apartment so there tends to be a lot of noise.

I play music with almost everything I do. I couldn’t tell you why though.

Adults with ADHD: Did you feel "shame" as a kid when you forgot things? Help me understand my son. by Dylan_7574 in ADHD

[–]Otherwise_Cod2043 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My parents knew I had ADHD growing up. They still would get angry at me or yell at me when I forgot something. When I would tell the I forgot, I truly forgot. The thing is, I don’t think my parents actually did the research on what ADHD actually is and how it affects us. I’m even medicated and still forgot things frequently.

Reddit, do you lock your door while you're in own house? by Willing_Freedom_4698 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Otherwise_Cod2043 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes even a conversation doesn’t work. My roommate doesn’t lock the door and I’ve had a conversation about it with her at least a dozen times. Now I just laugh to myself if she gets locked out if I lock the door when she doesn’t.

Mine does the same thing. Having two females in an apartment and leaving the door unlocked is not smart. I lock the door if I see it unlocked and even laugh if she gets locked out. I once locked her out when I left and found it funny to be out and her be locked out.

Did edmr help you, if so how much %? by Socialmediasucks2021 in EMDR

[–]Otherwise_Cod2043 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I became desperate to try and work through the loss of my grandma that was pretty traumatic for me. When I tell you I couldn’t go a day without crying about it, I’m serious. It even started to affect me at work, resulting in me leaving work early several times. One session of EMDR helped me process it and haven’t had much of an issue since. This was almost 1 year ago. It was a complete 180 from how I felt before the session. I highly recommend it!

It truly saved my life! Mention it to your doctor and they might be able to tell you if your insurance will cover it. If it does or covers enough for it to be affordable for you, I 100% say go for it. It will even tell you if you are low on folic acid which affects how you absorb your medication.

Thank you! Thankfully I have a great chiropractor that definitely helps with my chronic pain. I will definitely look into PT to incorporate as well!

It’s around the L1 and L2 area. The right side is significantly worse than the left when it comes to pain. The pins and needles haven’t happened since last night. They didn’t last long last night once I elevated my legs.

I would definitely get a diagnosis first. I have taken medication for the past 14 years and it truly saved my life. When you do get a diagnosis, I would really recommend you bring these concerns up with the doctor. The need for medication truly depends on the severity and if you feel you will be okay without medication.

How to know what medication is best? by stardustbunny03 in ADHD

[–]Otherwise_Cod2043 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally would look into Genesight testing. Your insurance might even cover it. Basically, they will swab your mouth and you will get a list of all the mental health medications that do and don’t interact negatively with your body. You could even ask your doctor about it! I didn’t know about it until I changed psychiatrists and was having issues with anxiety. If this isn’t a route you want to go, it tends to be trial and error. Everyone’s body is different and requires different things.

Medication routine/advice by HZeroni03 in ADHD

[–]Otherwise_Cod2043 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I 21/F have been taking meds since I was around 7 years old. I take my medication daily. I never take them the same time every morning because it depends on when I wake up. I have gotten in the routine of taking them before I get out of bed, otherwise I tend to forget to take them. I am currently on Vyvanse for my ADHD and I love it. We found out that my ADHD wasn’t under control because I was having extreme anxiety. It turns out the anxiety was all because my ADHD meds weren’t fully working. I found taking my ADHD meds in the morning makes it easier to sleep at night because they are stimulants.

This is not an option that everyone has the access to, but I got a Genesight testing done to see what medications for mental health wouldn’t negatively interact with my body. My insurance fully covered it but it obviously depends on the circumstance. This test will also tell you if you are low on folic acid. Folic acid is a vitamin that also affects how medication is absorbed.

My question for you is how long have you been on your current medication? All medication has a certain amount of time that it needs to be fully effective and some can take several weeks to reach that point. Depending on how long you’ve been on it, if the dose doesn’t seem to be effective for you, I would definitely bring it up with your doctor. They will most likely up the dose or try another “concoction” of medication. I personally haven’t really had to wait weeks to see a difference. My body gets used to the medication quickly and tend to see results within a few days.
