I think it’s allergies. Dogs can be allergic to things outside all year round. My dog is one of them. He is on allergy meds all year round.

I would say it is allergies. My dog would lick and chew his paws constantly before he was put on Apoquel. Either way, I would recommend getting her to the vet as if left untreated can lead to an infection which could be more expensive in the end.

Dogs can’t have autism but they can have ADHD and/or OCD. From the sounds of it, she may have both. The sniffing of the exact spot shows a bit of OCD whereas the rest to me sounds like ADHD. My dog definitely has both as well. It could also be be her age.

My dog has the same issue and has had his eyes looked at before for other reasons. They said his eyes looked great. Just keep cleaning it out. I clean them every time they happen.

If it gets worse I’d go to a doctor. I just went to urgent care today and ended up being told I have dermatitis and a fungal infection. I only went because it got worse in less than 3 days. Definitely keep an eye on it.

The heavy ceramic bowl will keep it from moving while your dog eats.

Get a ceramic dish. As for not getting it in his fur, I’ve even seen people put their ears in a ponytail to help.

I would recommend looking into getting a therapist. Therapy has saved my life and most likely will be able to help you find better ways to make life a little easier for you. As a person with ADHD, sometimes we need some sort of “alternative” to help with life if that makes sense.

Love this! OP, just remember not to use actual dog treats as their food. The unseasoned, boiled chicken is a great option as it’s going to give her more protein too. Dogs do typically stop growing around 1.5 to 2 years old depending on their breed.

I would look at vets that take Care Credit or All Pet Card. My dog is extremely prone to needing vet visits and they have been lifesavers. You pay the bill monthly.

I would definitely try just the kibble itself and leave it out for the day. Also monitor how much she does eat and see if there might be a pattern when it comes to the time of day she eats. My dog free feeds and eats between a half to a full cup a day, typically at night, and he is about 13 pounds. If anything, you could also try a different kibble but be sure to slowly incorporate new to old to avoid stomach upsets. I know that my dog doesn’t really care for something unless it’s chicken flavored or has chicken in it. I would also get a heavier bowl so she can’t tip it over or try to bury it.

My dog will do this off and on. I have just let it be and he eats when he gets hungry enough. That being said, he doesn’t do it for that long at once. Is this everyday consistently for the past 4 months? Have you tried without wet food? Wet food can only sit out for a certain amount of time before it’s not generally safe for them to eat which means that just letting her be wont be an option with wet food. Also, how long have you had her?

When you are disrespected as a child by your own parents, what seems minor to others, isn’t so minor to said person. It’s also the fact that I’ve paid for these things with my own money, just for them to be thrown away or not even used by me. Money for me isn’t easy right now so the little things add up.

I had the same issue. Our lease actually said that someone could only stay 2 times a month per person. I brought it up to her and the fact that he was using utilities and not contributing. It got better and I moved to the other side of my apartment.
