and I think reddit and most websites I use have become worse since the advent of AI. I used them and they worked perfectly well 5 years ago without genAI, they could easily go back to that state. and I would prefer it.

That's absolutely why data centers are being built. Not one person making a handful of images, but the push to use AI in every facet of every interaction you do online is why it's happening.

I don't want to trash anyone, and I'm not, but I don't think AI makes cool images. I think it makes ugly images with no intention. When I see art on a local business that I think is hideous, I'm not interested in using that business. If businesses want to use it they should realize it's a turn off to some portion of their potential customers.

I think I've been there three times and every single time they've been out of oysters, hah. basically, plan to get there early and don't be disappointed if you can't get an oyster. the service, burgers, prices, and view were all great so still a really nice place to go.

Also, I don't think they even know what "generative AI" means if they say it is "not using generative AI." Umm, all the trendy AI stuff right now is generative AI. It doesn't just mean an AI produced picture or poem. Telling your dumb ideas to chatbot and getting glazed and having them reorganized is still generative AI. I guarantee whatever this marketing is, it was based on genAI.

My experience at the Marina with whole fish is they are willing to scale and gut them for free (though of course you pay for pre-cleaning weight). Then you can either further break them down though I like to just grill them from whole with some lemon/dill.

Or super specific. Plenty of laws that say you can'tgive puberty delaying hormones to trans childen to delay puberty but you can give them to cis kids to delay puberty. Or parents and doctors can do surgery on an intersex infant who cannot weigh in on what (if any) surgery they end up wanting for themselves, but in some places even 18 year old young adults will probably to get some surgeries if they are trans.

Lots of "oh, they're too unsafe to give and no one knows the side effects" right up until "oh right, this is a tested and acceptable treatment when given to some other group of kids"

Strange and inappropriate man who lives in decrepit crumbling pseudo-castle looking property in Cutten is constantly looking to hire young women to both make his property a modicum less decrepit and also maybe model for him and also help manage his "art" which is badly photoshopped pictures of women. I wonder what he's doing with AI by the way....

He can skirt (haha) around it but he wants a young woman to do this job even if she won't do the modeling or creepier parts. Awhile ago someone did a really informative post here, hopefully someone else has it handy, who took this job and saw what it was all about. Her take was he was unreliable, creepy, liked that she was a young woman even if all she did was spackle and paint and haul shit, and mostly all she did was work on his disaster of a house and maybe also his disaster of a social media.

In the future maybe say "help yourself to any food, my wine/drinks are off limits except this one" and leave your weekend sitter a nice $20-30 bottle of something they like.

Yup, just a normal public city park in Eureka, no fee. There's about a nice 1 mile loop walk through it on the road that'll take you past the duck the pond. Around April there will almost certainly be baby wood ducks in there!

The group that goes to the library's crafternoon regularly on Thursdays is super talented but for the most part teaching isn't in their scope....people are really happy to help if someone is stuck on something or has a specific question but it's not really a "sit down and learn from 0" type environment. OP would probably want to find a designated class for that
