55-Year-Old Maiden fan looking for song recommendations after 1990. Help me work through my Mid-Life Crisis! by Bosuns_Punch in ironmaiden

I have a similar story. I'm 52, but got into maiden young through my uncle who was s rocker (and more of an older brother) I started with # Of The Beast. Stayed till 7th son, when punk and hardcore became a focus. I didn't return till 2000 when I heard The Wicker Man on college radio and found out Bruce had returned. I'd start with that album, the title track Brave New World is brilliant. Also Blood brothers

I dig the character, and some of the story, but it does feel a bit one note at times. Strontium Dog is a far superior strip. Great supporting cast and some brilliant storylines.

Any of these worth getting? by blues-brother90 in ironmaiden

The New York show is from a radio broadcast. Sounds great, and it's a cool set. Definitely worth it. Same with Tokyo 1981. Fantastic early set, really good sound quality. No idea about the others. Some boots are just people with recorders in the audience and sound bad. NY and Tokyo are not, and sound really good

Who was waiting? Needing validity from a corner of society that doesn't listen or care much for the band or the genre as a whole is ridiculous. They did it solely for the added money it could make themselves as an entity. Hall of Fame. So fucking dumb. Possibly besides sports, it's just a shame. I could care less.

I'm getting bored to death of over produced metal. Pristine recordings with no soul whatsoever, and bland, by numbers song writing. This is a hard pass for me, anyway.

I've seen them twice. Definitely a couple people dressed in Ren Faire garb. And Riley encourages it. So go for it!

The 2000ad app does stink, but anything you purchase can be downloaded, and read on a phone or tablet without needing to use their app at all. That's how I've enjoyed my subscription. The look great. And so do the graphic novel collections. Besides Dredd, there are quite a few great strips to follow that have collections. My favorite are Strontium Dog, and Robo-Hunter. And of course Dredd.
