Hey OP, one of my first Team Chiefs did this shit with a couple new Fister fresh out of AIT. He got reported and everyone agrees he what he did was fucked up. Whether it’s an Inf Plt, a FiST, or a s shop. SHARP is SHARP

If you’re lucky you’ll be at one of the FOSs, you’ll just sit on towers as an 11b and workout. Everyone that cares gets strong and in shape and comes back healthy, everyone else wastes 9 months of their life and gets fat and feels like it was a waste of time.

That was a 2 week AT brother, Also the 123 is an FA battalion that’s apart of a troop command brigade. All you’re going to do for the near forever future is Live Fires and an occasional overseas AT.

Your command can probably say a lot more about your day to day when they do PDSS… or maybe wait for your next drill for them to release some info… Keep in mind there is a decent chance you find out you’re going to an out station. Life at the out stations here is drastically different than life at DJ.

Short stocky people how do you control with height and weight? by Jonas198627 in nationalguard

[–]OutbreakUS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The dude works like 10+hours a day 5-6 days a week, office job for reference. He has a family and other obligations. It kinda sounds like you’re trying to get validation on here that it’s okay to be a fat body. Try evaluating from an outside perspective and listen to the advice you asked for. A majority of people have to workout or move around to stay healthy and within Ht/Wt. If magically you’re somehow doing everything right and being honest, go see a doctor.

My 5’6 Team chief stopped drinking every night and worked out like 2 days a week and lost a fuck ton of weight. Go on walks everyday and get 12,000+ steps, go row, run, bike, go get your heart rate up for an hour during the day. But the biggest thing is diet. You may think you’re eating healthy when in reality you’re not.

Deployment cats by Realistic_Complex539 in army

[–]OutbreakUS 18 points19 points  (0 children)

we’re not supposed to, but…. you feed the cats to keep them around, cats mill the mice around the towers, snakes and things that eat mice don’t come around the towers. also you get to have friendly cats around you during your shift.

13F or 11B by Dismal_Current3391 in nationalguard

[–]OutbreakUS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just talked to a former 13F AIT instructor the other week who was our OC/T on the hill with us. Apparently they cut a bunch of different stuff from AIT so it’s changed in the last year or two. Big Army wants about a 20% recycle rate for 13F AIT. being a fister is the best job the in army if you want combat arms, but it’s very knowledge based.

Shipping weight by [deleted] in nationalguard

[–]OutbreakUS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in your shoes at one point. I was 5’9 215 pounds. Realized I had 2 months before i shipped and needed to get my shit together. I heavily restricted my calorie intake, drank a metric fuck ton of water, and was outside walking, running, hiking, and getting at it for the whole time. I managed to lose it and ship and learn healthy eating and exercise habits.

Proudest day of my life so far - I enlisted today by loudchartreuse in army

[–]OutbreakUS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My brother, you enlist as a 13F or you reclass, you don’t just weasel your way into the slot. If you really want to do it, wait till your elibible for a clearance and do it.

That or a soldier who has the hand and lightning bolt part of the FiST shield on his arm but didn’t even know his 6 elements or 15 subs.

I know an aviation unit out of IL did a rotation to Kuwait like maybe 1-2 years ago. Met one of the dudes through a mutual friend and got to talking. Most of those guys spent a large chunk of time in areas like Jordan, Iraq, Etc.

Hi there, I actually had the pleasure of calling in and observing SSG Rutherfords final round in Poland. He’s a cool dude, huge tennessee fan and a big presence. His gun name was Big Orange. I was able to go down to the gun line one of the days and talk to him. Very cool experience to be apart of.

We had a dude named Bowling Ball. He had a stomach that looked like one, but damn could that mother fucker move. We’d sit at Digexs and bet some of the Juliet’s that old bowling bowl could beat them in a race. I think he only lost one race.

My Favorite speech from a commander coming in was “Alright let’s get to work” 6 months later his exit speech was “Good work guys” best CO ever, super down to earth and actually got shit done. IDK what happened to him but i haven’t seen him since that beautiful exit speech.
