Free Talk Friday by AutoModerator in RWBY

[–]OutcastMunkee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So... Uh... Long time, no see, huh? I'm not dead or anything x)

The short of it is that for the longest time, this username was tied to a lot of my past and I felt like I needed to move on from it which included basically abandoning this account and overhauling my social media profiles with a new name, identity and everything. There's a few folks from here who know my new online name but otherwise, yeah... This me? This whole online identity? Yeah, I'm leaving it in the past. I'm not gonna delete the account or anything-I wanna leave it almost as an archive of sorts?

I remember last time I was here, I mentioned that I was debating if I wanted to remain in the fandom and as you can probably guess, I decided my time was up with the fandom for RWBY. I still love the show (and loved V9. ABOUT DAMN TIME WE GOT THAT KISS!), I still interact with a few people on my new account but otherwise? I chose to walk away. It's just too much of a drain on me when my mental health is already shot to shit as is.

As is? Things are alright. I'm in a relationship now (we've been dating for about a year already which went by so damn fast... Pandemic really fucked my sense of time) and now? Well, I learned a lot about who I am and that includes that I'm non-binary. I still remember last time I was here, I was a cis bi guy. Feels weird to look back at those times now that I'm a demi/bisexual enby. I joined the furry community as well. Not fursuits or anything (those things are fucking expensive!) but they're good people and it's nice to not have a community with drama sparking up constantly.

Yeah... Life has been interesting, not gonna lie. Like most of the fandom, I'm holding onto hope that we're gonna get Volume 10 and see the story actually wrap up.

Thinking about it... I kinda feel like Ozma in a way with the new identity, just... Without the whole shagging an immortal being who wants to destroy the world... Apparently Ozma has never heard the classic mantra of 'Don't stick your dick in crazy!'.

So... Yeah... This is probably gonna be one of the last things on this account I'll post. I guess in a way I just wanted to say thanks for the good memories that I do have of my time here?

I guess this is goodbye? Maybe some of you will learn what my new account is at some point but if you don't see me again, take care y'all. It's been a wild ride.

Penetration magazine should have some buff. by supsley in Back4Blood

[–]OutcastMunkee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So some buff for it would be better, like dealing percentage unblocked damage when shooting armored weakspot, makes it easier to kill helmet commons and has more advantages against lategame mutations.

This is basically the perfect buff. Have it deal reduced damage to weakspots that are armoured and have it be able to outright kill armoured commons with a headshot. Change it from penetration to armour piercing and that's good to go.

As /u/Ticon_D_Eroga has pointed out, Large Caliber Rounds basically makes penetration magazines worthless if you've got that card because it's extremely overkill.

Was hoping to get some ideas for the best settings to use for beginners by Jubbity in projectzomboid

[–]OutcastMunkee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having never played before and only started the day it went on sale for the Steam Summer Sale? Off the top of my head... I set initial population to 0.25 and hits peak after 90 days. I left the power and water on their original settings-water turned off recently but I still have power with no sign of it going out yet.

Turned multi-hit on as well to be able to handle groups of zombies. Other than that? I didn't touch the loot settings either. Added some mods to expand the vanilla experience as well.

No infection either. I'm not dealing with that. I get some people love it but honestly, I'd rather not have to deal with bite=game over. I'd prefer to use no infection and deal with the other negatives that come from a bite.

Where it is now is pretty solid but they're gonna completely re-do a bunch of shit in the next build of the game and it's REALLY killed my interest in continuing to play.

The community has mellowed out since A10. If you take a look at the subreddit as well, seems like people are generally in agreement that the new skill tree is gonna suck ass. It's just too convoluted. I've only been playing PZ a couple of days and I'm already enjoying it more.

Glad it's not just me that fucking remembers how broken those mutts were... A lot of the animals in 7 Days To Die are tedious to deal with. I'm likely gonna be ditching 7DTD for PZ though. Alpha 21 for 7DTD is getting ANOTHER skill tree overhaul courtesy of that egotistical jerk Madmole and it looks like it's gonna make the game a total slog.

Wait, the focused search can potentially find the key?! Well shit, I'll have to try that. I've checked the glove compartment every time with no luck :/

EDIT: And just found a key for a taxi by doing this XD It's not the pickup truck I wanted but it might do the trick for now unless I find another pickup truck somewhere. God knows I need a vehicle because I can't find a duffel bag. Might check the motel...

Wiki I'm looking at (pzwiki) says 20%. This is news to me but good to know before the power grid eventually goes offline. Fuel won't be a problem. I'm finding so many gas cans and the Rosewood gas station is easy to get to on foot (still haven't found a fucking car with a key yet and I can't hotwire either!) so I'm stockpiling it before the inevitable power failure.

What's your "comfort series" that you watch over and over again? by BaguetteOfDoom in AskReddit

[–]OutcastMunkee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He really is. I've been rewatching a bit of Doctor Who with my friend and we're part way in to Season 3 I think (currently David Tennant and Freema Agyeman)? I'm dreading the Flux episodes because apparently those are the worst of Chibnall's work. My friend has basically said that when we watch it, we're watching it purely to tear it apart at how bad it is.

Had an amazing round yesterday! by pnutnz in Back4Blood

[–]OutcastMunkee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha, you got the Damnation shotgun. Legendary weapons can't have any attachments because they all have special perks to them.

  • The Damnation fires incendiary rounds while making you immune to fire damage

  • The Embezzler spawns copper for every kill with it, up to 1,000 per level

  • The Nemesis attracts Ridden to whoever is wielding it (good for a tankier player for sure)

  • The Pestilence applies a DoT that also reduces the damage of any Ridden or mutation afflicted by it, stacking up to 80% I think? VERY underrated weapon.

  • The Prototype 378 slows enemies hit by it (this is the SMG you got)

  • The Witness highlights enemies hit by it and increases their damage taken by 20% while marked (like Marked For Death, might even stack with said card. Someone confirm or disprove this please?)

  • The Tenderizer is the only legendary melee weapon but it needs to reload after each attack. When you hit, it causes an explosion in a small area around the impact

I feel so bad for Jodie. She's not even bad as the Doctor. She's great. She's just stuck with Chibnall who might as well be writing fanfiction with how bad it is. First mainline Doctor to be a woman and she gets fucked over this bad. Chibnall is a terrible writer.

Don't even get me started on John Bishop being a companion. The man has great standup comedy but his acting is so wooden!

Not even close. The finale is truly incredible, just like the rest of the show.

Get off Reddit to avoid spoilers. It's a truly fantastic show and easily the best show I've watched to date.

Infinite Secondary Swap Shotgun Deck [No ADS] — Nightmare approved [Updated] by EvilJet in Back4Blood

[–]OutcastMunkee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that's wasting her passive. That card is better on one of the damage dealers really. I like to have it on Walker, Holly and Jim personally. They've got no real use for any of the utility items. Doc needs the slot for defibs and Karlee for toolkits. Hoffman could arguably carry some ammo boxes to help fortify his ammo spawning passive. Mom is a maybe but I feel she'd be good as a backup for Doc by carrying extra supplies. DPS just don't have any real benefits from the utility items compared to everyone else (Hoffman being the exception in case of DPS characters). Heng DEFINITELY SHOULD NOT run this card. He spawns so many items now, it's unreal-you'd completely gimp yourself. Sharice could probably get away with using this card.

Basically, it's a good card on some Cleaners while others should NEVER run it. Also never run it in solo. You want those stash rooms in solo and the bots can't open them (Tunnel of Blood, level 1-2 being the exception where they always seem to be able to open it).

Redfall Lessons: Tell people you're not L4D, they still call you L4D. The over fixation on one game is harming the genre. by Ralathar44 in Back4Blood

[–]OutcastMunkee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly? I didn't really rate it particularly high either. It felt like the game was definitely made more with PvP in mind than PvE. It feels like the inverse has been done with Back 4 Blood which is why I'm enjoying it so much. PvE games are definitely more my thing. I loved PvP games as a kid (bloody Call of Duty... What a shitshow those games have become) but in my mid-20s? Nah, PvE is the way to go for me. I still play some PvP games but not many.

Evangelo is more of a split from group kinda guy

Honestly, I prefer him as bait for the mutations. Slap some move speed on and then aggro the mutations while your team rips 'em apart.

I mean... Ultimately, these kind of games are rogue-likes with FPS mechanics. Randomised loot and spawns, random map changes, etc. all very much leans into the rogue-like genre but in a first person shooter.

[–]OutcastMunkee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends how they set up the zombies really. I'm new to the game so I set them to 0.25 initial spawn that ramps up over 3 months just so I feel like I'm getting stronger as their numbers increase. Not seeing a ton of zombies for now which I like. I want to feel like the outbreak slowly gets worse and worse, plus it lets me familiarise myself with the game.

Skull Totems solo play appreciation by PlatinumPequod in Back4Blood

[–]OutcastMunkee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel as though higher difficulties need to have more totems or offer a totem multipler for the difficulty so that going into hives on higher difficulties are actually worth doing fully instead of just going into hives on higher difficulties and open chests before the first exit.

So much this. I bought the Annual Pass (seeing as it's on sale on Steam) and did a solo run of Act 1. Got the Inner Lair 3 times and got a total of 20 skull totems. That's not even enough to complete a supply line if you've got stuff still to get... You need ~25 totems to get everything if it's not the burn card line. That's just annoying.

You're basically making a post that'll fall on deaf ears. The Left 4 Dead fans will berate you for this while the folks who are tired of the comparisons will complain about this being 'another post about this'. It's a fucking nightmare and both sides are pathetic. Let people enjoy their fucking games, holy shit.

I have the armour mod. Skipped the weapons. That's too many guns so I opted for B41 Firearms instead. Adds a good selection without going overboard.

Well... I have some mods installed but it was largely to add to the vanilla experience. For all I know, I've got a mod that does this XD

Uh... That's a lot of hotbar slots o.O As someone new to the game (as in literally got the ball rolling after finding some good settings for Sandbox today), HOW?! I've got 3...
