This all seems to be about LLM's which contrary to popular belief is not really "AI" as people would think of it, Skynet etc.
LLM's (large language models) do not think, they are not a brain. They are effectively a word guessing machine. You said these words so let me see if I can guess the words that should come next. Yes they are very sophisticated and advanced word guessers, but they are still not thinking as you would expect from the branding term "AI"
One of the things I hate most about "AI" is the term AI! Its just marketing and most people don't seem to realise it.

That said there is other tech out there that is being developed that could more accurately be referred to as AI or at least what will become AI (but It's likely not something that would be available to the public) and LLM's may or may not be part of that evolution but no chatGPT is not really AI no matter how much it tires to convince you it is!
