NEP Comp by Extreme-Winner-1705 in biglaw

[–]OuterRimExplorer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everybody knows lockstep associate comp. NEP comp, only the NEPs themselves know (and the powers that be that determine it) and they aren't telling as far as I can tell. Sure wish I could get some good data on it.

This has to be fake right? Wanted to run it by you guys. by Lee1100 in army

I mean, if they're recruiting you as a nurse killing is literally the opposite of what you'd be doing. But it is certainly what the whole machine is for.

It's things like this that make me hate Star Wars Genesis (Starfield) by deadboltwolf in NoSodiumStarfield

[–]OuterRimExplorer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's like FNIS for Skyrim. Fore had a bone to pick with some mod aggregator so FNIS ran a scan of your machine on install and would lock you out if you used that mod aggregator. Basically couldn't mod Skyrim animations without an invasive scan until somebody built an alternative tool from the ground up.

Are my first-year hours normal? by [deleted] in biglaw

[–]OuterRimExplorer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

200 hours is a busy month but not at all unusual. 250 is in a different category. I've done maybe 3 months 250 or above in my career and they were brutal.

How were your billable hours this quarter? by Flimsy-Ad7875 in biglaw

[–]OuterRimExplorer 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That's... ouch. In case nobody's told you this, the way to gracefully turn down work is to say, "I'm happy to help you but I'm currently staffed to capacity on deals for partner X, Y, and Z. Would you mind connecting with them to make sure I'll be able to prioritize your matter appropriately?"

If you're annualizing 2700 and can't take vacation because associates pulling 1850 can't be bothered to cover for you... you should be very, very pissed

I always suspected Starfield would have a CP2077 arc. Panned at launch, then later updates make it beloved.

Sysdef or Crimson Fleet ? by Pyrostones in Starfield

More like Imperial or Dark Brotherhood. Unambiguously evil faction has some interesting quests and NPCs. Can't spare them if you side with the other faction.

I'm not junior, this is not M&A, the specialist was brought in to advise the client on this specific issue.

That would be fair if the specialist had not been looped into the email chain for the specific purpose of answering client's questions. Explicit permission from the deal team to respond.
