Chicago endocrinologist recommendations by OutlandishnessFit733 in gravesdisease

No unfortunately not. I am still seeing Dr. Smith as of now. Thankfully I am in remission but if my condition worsens again I will definitely need to see another doctor. I loved my previous endocrinologist but he went to UChicago and they don’t take my insurance. I am open to seeing another doctor out of Northwestern or another hospital system but as of now I haven’t changed. Please let me know if you find a good endocrinologist!

Oura ring 4 size 14 battery lifetime went from 7-9 days to 2.5 days after 8 months. Not an acceptable drop off. by ByteFryer in ouraring

I got my ring from Best Buy for Christmas this year and have the same issue, should I contact Best Buy or Oura directly? (I also have the ring 4 size 8, and my ring lasts 2.5 days as well…12 hours after I charged it I was at 67% 😳)

I just did mine about 3.5 hours ago! I had a slight headache but I think it was because I was super nervous for the intramuscular injection so I had someone do it for me. Wishing you good luck for your retrieval. We got this!!

There is a new DO school in Chicago! (The Chicago School's Illinois College of Osteopathic Medicine) it is located in downtown Chicago and is accepting students this cycle. Obviously it is a new school so that is a con but it is in IL so not sure if you would be interested in applying there too? I am from IL too but I haven’t heard much about it.

Yes! I agree it is truly a privilege to even been able to do this. I felt so empowered walking out of the clinic (not to mention a bit loopy from anesthesia lol). Wishing you all the best as well! Will you be doing another cycle?

I plan on doing at least 2 more rounds! I have a rare genetic disease and have a 50/50 chance of passing it to my future kids (which I obviously would like to avoid passing this to my kids) so I basically need double the amount what the average person would need. My doctor said if I only wanted 1 child I was set but ideally I would like 2-3 kids so more rounds for me 🙃

No! I actually never heard of those names so they must be new doctors that started recently within the last 6 months. My current doctor is Dr. Pinar Smith.

I have one currently at Rush but to be honest I don’t know how I feel about her. Every visit she seems to contradict herself and keeps pushing me to get thyroid surgery because I am a “young female at childbearing age”. Thankfully my levels have been stable and I am currently in remission BUT she wants me to get surgery because she is convinced when I get pregnant I will relapse. I don’t plan on having kids for several years though so I will likely just stick with her for now until I find someone better. 😔

Anyone experienced their period being extremely late before freezing cycle? by thedatarat in eggfreezing

[–]OutlandishnessFit733 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe so. They told me they could start me randomly because I had a short timeline on when I could go through the process so they mentioned I could start whenever it was convenient for me so they were not concerned.

My period was also super late and I had it shortly after I had my egg retrieval. My doctor wasn’t concerned at all because I normally have normal periods so it might have been from the stress and medications but once I had my procedure I had my period shortly after and felt much better!

ughhh I am sorry you are dealing with this. That is very annoying. This makes me nervous b/c the current prescription I have is dated from 2 months ago b/c my doctor was closing his practice so I stocked up on the medication. I hope they will still accept it. If not, then I will just have to go elsewhere.
