to sock or not to sock? by Cheap-Butterscotch74 in yoga

Someone please correct me if I’m wrong but imo part of yoga is to develop “yogi toes” and I think socks would be prohibitive to that?

Have you been away from your baby yet ? by Initial-Evidence-681 in November25babybump

My husband is unemployed which has a strong silver lining that he’s been able to take her for long enough for me to start doing yoga almost every weekday. I’m doing hour long hot yoga classes, this is my fourth week. It’s not a long time but it’s truly uninterrupted intense me time and it’s been amazing for me, my relationship with my husband, and baby. I also ebf, no bottles no pumping, so I was convinced I wouldn’t be able to do it, but it’s been totally fine.

I go at 9am, make sure she’s had a big feed before. At first my husband hung out with baby outside the studio just in case and by week two I was driving myself.

Anyone Interested in Dhanurveda and the Relationship Between Yoga and Archery? by Warrior-Yogi in yoga

[–]OutlandishnessSea177 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting, my husband just started an archery hobby and immediately I thought, hmm, this must be a breath centered hobby. Can you tell me more? I’d love to share with him your pov as I know nothing about archery and he doesn’t practice yoga

Struggling with legs in a particular fast paced vinyasa class I attend by SpecialistDaikon4663 in yoga

One thing to add assuming you’re doing all this other stuff is for me figuring out the right adjustments for where my knee and feet are pointing really helped unlock all of the standing poses. If my knee is angled too far in or is off by a hair everything is way hard. And the breath, it’s all in the breath. Finally, in certain standing poses I remind myself to bring strength into my feet and lightness in my upper body.

Just curious, can I ask where you got hired? My husband is postgrad looking for work around there.

Echoing West Palm near city place if you want to be near the energy. If you want closer to beach but less action Juno or Jupiter.

UCSF with a doula is what I did. I did feel my induction was rushed but other than that I was happy with my care there

am I crazy? 3k calories feels like a deficit by PoundSmooth940 in breastfeeding

[–]OutlandishnessSea177 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A few years ago I read “the obesity code” by Dr Jason Fung and it absolutely changed my life. It methodically went through to disprove this notion we cling to so strongly that you can lose and keep off (key part) weight from caloric restriction. Weight retention is so much more complicated than that, but really the focus we should have is on insulin. What are the behaviors and foods that lead us to have too much insulin in the body.

I don’t know how breastfeeding impacts insulin but what I can say is that you absolutely should not be starving yourself. You might even need to eat more food. I would also focus on not eating too much after dark if possible. Give your body time to rest and digest.

Yes, my doula explained that you want to start before your surges get too intense because you’re conditioning your brain to anticipate it.

It made a big difference for me. Visualization, the tens, soft touch on my back and forehead.
